Explore multiple Utaki (sacred sites) that still remain inside, and from the highest point of the castle, gaze toward Kudaka Island, revered as the birthplace of life in Ryukyuan mythology.
Learn about the history of the Ryukyu Kingdom, which was not ruled by military power, but through rituals, diplomacy, and flourishing maritime trade. Discover how the castle was built to express the sacred authority of the king and the kingdom's guiding principles of peace and international openness.
