Itinerary
Discover some of Western Norway's most dramatic landscapes on this carefully scheduled 4-hour scenic excursion from Flåm. Designed for comfort and realistic pacing, this tour combines impressive waterfalls, historic mountain roads, and fjord viewpoints — all accessible through established public visitor areas.
Flåm – Departure
Your journey begins in the fjord village of Flåm, surrounded by steep mountains and deep valleys at the inner end of the Aurlandsfjord. From here, travel by comfortable vehicle through striking scenery as you head toward your first stop.
Tvindefossen – Waterfall Stop
The first highlight is Tvindefossen, a beautiful multi-tiered waterfall cascading approximately 110 meters down a broad rock face. Upon arrival, guests have independent time to explore the designated public viewing area and walking paths near the base.
The waterfall's mist, surrounding greenery, and layered rock formations make this a memorable photo opportunity. Surfaces may be uneven or wet depending on conditions, and suitable footwear is recommended.
Stalheim Road – Historic Mountain Views
The journey continues toward the historic Stalheim Road, known for its dramatic hairpin bends and panoramic valley views. This area overlooks the Nærøydalen Valley, part of the UNESCO-listed fjord landscape region.
Guests may enjoy independent time at established viewpoints and public areas along the route. From these scenic vantage points, you can see cascading waterfalls and steep mountain slopes stretching toward the fjord below. Please remain within marked areas and follow posted signage.
Gudvangen – Fjord Photo Stop
Descending into the valley, the tour includes a stop in Gudvangen, a small village located at the head of the Nærøyfjord. Surrounded by towering mountains and waterfalls, this fjord setting offers a different perspective of the landscape and excellent opportunities for photography.
After a scheduled stop, the return journey to Flåm allows you to relax and take in the scenery once more.
