Reviews: From Brașov: Romanian Castle Tour with Bran and Peles

A wonderful experience. Florin, our guide, spoke three languages, sharing historical and cultural anecdotes along the way. He was very kind, since we couldn't have found tickets for Peles Castle due to the crowds, so he was kind enough to book them for us in advance. The heavy snowfall made everything even more fascinating and made the delay worthwhile.

I booked Peles Castle, Bran, and Brasov, but instead of Brasov, I ended up with a strange, albeit beautiful, place. I could have spent more time in Peles than in Bran.

The trip was amazing! Our tour guide and driver was very nice and informative too. The bear sanctuary was amazing and as was draculas castle. Although the fortress is actually closed to the public and will be indefinitely, so you can only look at it from the outside, which it should have told you this before you book and go. Nonetheless would recommend!

What a fantastic way to see the countryside of Romania! Our tour guide, Sonia, was superb! We cannot say enough about how friendly, helpful and and knowledgeable she is. Made this trip the best we have done. One note if caution, the castles, particularly Bran Castle, requires walking up very steep inclines and and lot of steps...well worth it but be prepared.

Catalin was a superb guide keeping us entertained with stories about Romanian history on the long drive there. His car was very smart and he made sure that we were comfortable. When we got to Peles castle there was a long queue but he found a way of getting us in quickly. Once inside he pointed out many fascinating details that we would never have spotted ourselves. He made the history come alive with his stories and the way he told them. He was an expert on taking photos of us in the grounds and encouraged us to ask questions. We had a short stop in Brasov to get a quick sandwich and he showed us the Black Church with the story of the child sculpture. He then took us to Bran Castle and handed us over to the guide there who took us round the castle in a small group. He then drove us back to our hotel in Bratislava. It was a long day but I am so glad we took this whole day trip as we learnt so much about the history of Romania and saw some really interesting places, driving through beautiful country. I would really recommend Catalin as he was such a good guide.
