Itinerary reference introduction:
Experience the Tromso whale-watching tour aboard the MS Gabriele catamaran for a fast and comfortable journey to observe whales up close. Head to the prime locations where whales gather to feed on herring. Enjoy whale watching through the large windows in the cozy cabin or get an even closer view from the open-air deck. You may have the chance to spot orcas and humpback whales, while fin whales, minke whales, and sperm whales are also frequently seen in the waters near Tromso. A professional guide will lead the group through the Arctic scenery while sharing fascinating whale facts. The tour lasts 6-8 hours, depending on the whales' location—extending to 8 hours if they are farther away to maximize sighting opportunities. The warm and comfortable catamaran ensures every passenger has a seat, with hot and cold beverages, snacks, and light meals available for purchase onboard.
Since whales follow the herring they feed on, their locations can vary daily. The crew is highly experienced in locating whales and spots them almost every day, but sightings are not guaranteed. We offer a second-chance guarantee—if you don't see whales, you'll receive a complimentary ticket to join another tour with available spots within the same season. Weather in the Arctic can be unpredictable. If conditions are too severe due to weather or rough seas, the tour may be canceled. In such cases, you'll receive a full refund or the option to reschedule for another available date. Occasionally, due to weather or itinerary changes (such as excessively rough seas making whale watching unsuitable), the crew may choose an alternative route with lower whale sighting probabilities, opting for more sheltered waters. This becomes a scenic fjord cruise, featuring sightseeing and wildlife viewing (potentially including eagles, seabirds, seals, dolphins, and whales).
