I traveled to Kazakhstan alone and booked this tour. My guide is Didi, she is really helpful, funny, and caring. She also prepared chocolate for us. The tour consisted of 10 people, so this was a nice number if you don’t like crowded tour. I met many new friends during the tour because my group is so diverse. We had people from the US, France, Germany, Philippines, and India. You also got a chance to experience riding an old Soviet van, really interesting. The horse riding is 5000 tenge for 1 way and 7000 for round trip.

We combined on the same day the Almaty city tour and the visit to the Shymbulak Ski Station. Even in the summer, that's a very beautiful and pleasant place. On the highest point you have a great view of the place. Our guide from Neomad, Nursultan, was a great company, we had an excellent day with him.

This tour was absolutely fantastic, and I’m really glad I chose it. I had a wonderful time. The schedule was well-organized, with plenty of time at each attraction. Our guide, Noor, was knowledgeable and caring. I was picked up from my hostel and dropped off afterward, which was very convenient. The horseback riding was a unique experience for me, and I was also lucky to have such great fellow travelers. Altogether, it made for a truly special day. I highly recommend this tour. This tour was absolutely fantastic, and I’m really glad I chose it. I had a blast throughout, and the itinerary was well-organized, with ample time at each attraction. We visited 5 attractions to visit in a say day but the trip was very well thought out hence it didn’t feel rushed at all. Van was clean and comfortable, and driver is very experienced as well. Local lunch was a spread, we left with a full tummy. My guide, Aidar, is friendly, knowledgeable, attentive and a great storyteller.

This was a great way to start the day in Almaty, Dimitri are guide, was very knowledgeable about any questions we had, he told stories about history, the science, and even personal tales of Almaty lake. And of course it is super beautiful! Bring good hiking shoes.


