My parents and I visited Wuhan for the first time, eager to explore its rich culture and cuisine. We were drawn to this venue by its promise of a theatrical dining experience—something reminiscent of an Emperor-style lunch we once enjoyed in Beijing, though rooted in a different regional tradition.
The ambiance did not disappoint. The show was vibrant, and the decorations were immersive, transporting us into a world of historical elegance and local flair. It’s clear that a lot of thought went into crafting a visually captivating experience.
Unfortunately, the food fell short of expectations. The preparation was noticeably poor—meats were tough and lacked the tenderness one would expect from classic dishes. The “Dong Bo Rou,” a signature item known for its melt-in-your-mouth texture, was dry and chewy. The beef resembled jerky more than a delicacy. After the meal, I felt★

I thoroughly enjoyed my day trip in Wuhan! Sisi and her team were very knowledgeable, attentive, flexible and definitely made my trip extra special. We went to hidden places that normal group tour likely wouldn’t go and I really appreciate her insights of local Wuhan people.
