At 6:30 AM, our driver will pick you up from your hotel on time. It takes about 2 hours by car to reach Leshan Giant Buddha.
First, we'll visit the panoramic view of the giant Buddha. From the viewing platform, you can see the spectacular scenery of the Buddha and the confluence of three rivers. Then we'll walk down the cliffside plank path all the way to the base of the Buddha. Looking up at the 71m tall Buddha is truly awe-inspiring. Along the way, the guide will share historical stories about the Buddha with you.
Around 11:30 AM, we recommend authentic Leshan cuisine. The braised beef with ox feet and sweet-skinned duck are both famous local dishes. You can order according to your personal taste preferences.
After lunch and a short rest, we'll take the bus to Emeishan at 1 PM. It takes about 1.5 hours to reach the Leidongping parking lot. From there, you can take the cable car to the Golden Summit, which only takes 10 minutes to reach the mountaintop.
When you reach the Golden Summit (3,079m above sea level), you'll see the dazzling golden statue of Samantabhadra, which is particularly spectacular. If the weather is good, you can also see the sea of clouds and sometimes even the "Buddha's light." The guide will take you around for photos, and you can also visit Huazang Temple to pray for blessings.
We'll start descending around 4:30 PM and take the car back to Chengdu, arriving around 7:30 PM. The driver can recommend dining options along the way or take you directly back to your hotel.
Important notes:
Emeishan is colder than Chengdu, remember to bring a jacket.
The weather on the mountain changes quickly, so it's advisable to bring an umbrella or raincoat.
