Dongling mountain is located at the northwest border of Mentougou district in Beijing, adjacent to Hebei province, 122 km from the city center. With its main peak standing at 2,303 m, it is the highest mountain in Beijing, surpassing the elevations of famous mountains like Lushan, Taishan and Huangshan. The mountain features steep cliffs, majestic ridges and bizarre rock formations. Thanks to its high altitude, geographical location and minimal light pollution, Dongling mountain is an excellent destination for night hiking, stargazing and sunrise viewing.
