Beijing W Town + Great Wall At Simatai 1-day tour - optional private tour with hotel transfers within the 5th Ring Road

TLDR: Great day trip experience to this nice resort and attraction beside a section of the Great Wall. Dec is their low shoulder period, so not all shops and shows are open. Best to come in spring or autumn where the lake is still accessible. It was frozen when I was there. Description as is, simple to redeem. Driver was nice, trip took 2 hours to reach, spent the whole day walking thru the town then going up the Great Wall. You could also stay for 2 days 1 night watch the shows, walk the town in the evening and see the Great Wall lighted up at night. Note: lots of walking required

We had a great time (daytime route). The bus also offers an optional boat ride to the city (only there, immediately upon arrival) for 80 and a cable car (roundtrip) for 160. There weren't many people on the wall. In the evening, both the city and the Great Wall are beautifully illuminated.

I had the opportunity to travel to Gubei Water Town near Beijing, which was definitely worth the trip. The tour guide explained in detail and the main attractions were impressive. As soon as I entered the door, I was deeply attracted by a pond of carp. The colorful and large carp swam freely in the water, as if I were in it. I don’t have time to go to the Jiangnan water town, so I came here for a stroll on the weekend, and my mood immediately became relaxed. The long corridors, the ancient houses on both sides, the deep water in the middle, and the beautiful scenery everywhere made me overwhelmed and dazzled. I really want to grow two more eyes to take in this beautiful scenery. Being here made me feel the slow pace of life. Walking in this scene, my soul was as clear as if it was washed by clear water. The attractions that impressed me the most are still vivid in my mind. The Qinglansujing cloth in the courtyard of Yongshun Dyeing Factory is hung high, and it is refreshing to walk through it; Sima The whole process of wine making in the small distillery and the huge cellar dazzled me; the performance of the Zhenyuan Bidding Bureau, with its qigong throat-holding spear, was shocking to me; the brightly lit Gubei Water Town at night was even more breathtaking: the musical fountain on Wangjing Street was a marvelous experience combining auditory and visual senses; at night, tourists gathered at the Sun and Moon Island, and the Kongming lanterns rose slowly, as if mailing my thoughts to distant places; the drone show was even more colorful and eye-catching... The boat ride in Gubei Water Town must be checked out. There were a few people sitting leisurely, and the rowing master rowed slowly, slowing down everything. The comfort in my heart was beyond words, and I left reluctantly, still wanting more. I will definitely come again in the future, not just once or twice, but many times. I really like Beijing's Jiangnan Water Town

It's the perfect season to visit Gubei Water Town. The weather is cool, not hot at all, and you feel refreshed. September is the off-season, and there are few people in the scenic area. The beautiful scenery is so charming, and there are only a few people there. It's very pleasant. The scenery in the scenic area is so beautiful. The deep green water of the oil painting is winding and straight, and the ancient houses on both sides have their own characteristics. Every scenery makes me linger and return. The memory is still fresh. I feel that one visit is not enough. The tour guide's explanation is very good, and there is no waste of time. The day's itinerary is full. I am very satisfied with this trip.

The tour was well organized. I bought initially the bus and the entrance. On site I got also the cable car and the bout tour. The cable round trip is more convenient so you can stay and enjoy more the view from the Great Wall. I had all the time I need to spent on the Wall walking all available towers and in some points I was even alone (visiting in low season end November). You can also book the second cable for the night seeing from 17.30-19.30, but you need to pay the cable car again. The city was nice but in November is quite cold, take it into account, cose we had quit long time to spent there.
