Reviews: Stutthof Concentration Camp English Tour with Gdansk Hotel pickup

Emotional and pensive experience. The tour was super informative. The driver was on time and professional getting us safely to Stutthof.
Reviews: Malbork Castle regular tour

The experience was great. The guide was. Very knowledgeable. The only thing that I kinda bummed out about was that we had to meet a timeline and I didn’t have more time at the end to check out the Amber exposition they have there. Overall, I do recommend for transportation facilitation and get the history of castle, which is amazing.

I was so happy (and relieved!) that we had a guide who spoke real English with hardly any places in speech that could show she wasn't a native. Her name is Kate. Kate was absolutely wonderful, friendly and knowledgeable. Her voice was clear and strong, without any yelling. When she needed to, she used a microphone and speaker so that we could all hear her clearly. She gave us such a wonderful, captivating tour! She explained the history and current situation so well, and she made it all so interesting. We didn't feel rushed at all, which was great because we usually feel rushed on tours. We were lucky enough to have time to listen, look around, and take some basic pictures. We'll come back later in the evening when there are fewer tourists. After the tour finished in the yard of the sadly known Postal Office, Kate gave the leader of each group a map stamped by Dynamite, which was supposed to ensure us discounts in various places. Unfortunately, we forgot the map in the hotel room the next day, so we didn't get to try the discounts. Kate's voice sometimes carried a sense of emotion, which is understandable. After all, the moving history of Gdansk and the Second World War is still very present here. It's so sad and unnerving, hard to believe that terror, bombing and the killing of innocent people which happened here in the Second World War, is happening even nowadays just a doors nearby because of the actions of the current well known aggressor. We'd already encountered the concept of free walking tours in other countries, so I was really happy when our son decided to join. I usually think of a tour like this as an introduction to the city. After that, I like to explore the most interesting places on my own and read more about the history. Kate was also helpful with giving us great tips on what to see next. That's why we got to see so many more fascinating places than we originally planned for our trip! There are two follow-up tours which would give you the full picture about Gdansk – the fascinating Gdańsk Shipyard Uncovered and the thought-provoking Nazi Terror Tour. It's best to take one per day if you can. We really wanted to do 2 in one day, but we were exhausted from walking in the heat. It felt like by the time we finished one tour, came back to the hotel to refill water and eat something, we should be leaving for the next tour. It was pretty hot during our noon tour, so it was a great idea to have a yellow umbrella! For other people, it's a good idea to check the weather forecast right before the tour, to make sure you have plenty of water and a head covering during heat stroke. Oh, and make sure you wear comfy walking/hiking shoes! You'll be walking on pavements in cube form (that's the name for the kind of street that's really popular in these ancient cities, even today). It's easy to hurt your ankle If you're visiting a new country or city, just check if there are any free walking tours. There are lots of other organisations that do it, and it's always a fantastic experience! I'd highly recommend going through the official website of the organisation you choose, rather than those big international chains like *** or GetYourGuide. This way, more money will go directly to the guides, as they won't have to share the fees with anyone else. The lovely tour guides accept cash in the main currencies (EUR was fine in our case).

Reviews: Museum of the Second World War Gdansk Private Tour & Tickets

This museum, it’s exhibits, it’s audio guide or among the best I have ever attended. You get a very good view of World War III, it’s causes, and resulting historical events. Allowing enough time to go through the museum completely and listen to the entire audio guide.

This was one of our best days of our cruise enjoying Gdańsk. The old city is so beautiful and we thoroughly enjoyed the Amber museum and experiencing the Museum of Solidarity. Had an excellent authentic lunch. Fantastic day with a fabulous guide !!
