Trip Overview
In the morning, we will depart from Madrid and head to the City of Three Cultures—Toledo. We will stroll through the streets of this city, which has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1986. Explore the Cathedral of Toledo. This cathedral was built on the site of an Arab mosque and dates back to the 13th century. Today, it stands as one of Spain's most significant Gothic cathedrals. Before entering the cathedral, you can admire its magnificent façade and towering bell tower. Inside, visit the cathedral's interior and the sacristy, which once served as a former art museum housing numerous masterpieces, including fifteen paintings by El Greco.
After visiting the cathedral, we will have some free time in the city, which you can use for shopping or enjoying a cup of coffee.
If you prefer to explore Toledo on your own, you'll have the opportunity to discover the city at your own pace. Its captivating cultural blend will surprise you at every turn, with its stunning architectural and cultural diversity. You can visit the Church of Santo Tomé, which houses one of El Greco's most renowned works, and immerse yourself in the city's history of Christian, Muslim, and Jewish coexistence.
Afterwards, we will return to Madrid, with approximately 1 hour for lunch.
In the afternoon, we will head to Segovia. We will park near the [Aqueduct], which will be the first monument we encounter in the city. The aqueduct consists of 167 arches and is considered one of the best-preserved in the world. We will take a walking tour of the city. First, we will arrive at [Plaza Mayor], where several monuments are located, such as the Segovia City Hall or the Juan Bravo Theater, but the highlight is the [Segovia Cathedral]. We will enter the cathedral for a complete guided tour.
After visiting the cathedral, we will have a short period of free time. The next stop will be the Alcázar of Segovia, one of the best-preserved and most famous medieval castles in the world. It is said to have even inspired some of Walt Disney's films, such as Cinderella's Castle or the Queen's Castle in Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.
