Reviews: 1-Day Private Tour to Kashgar, Xinjiang Pamir Plateau, Karakul Lake, Baisha Mountain, and Baisha Lake

I booked the tour online through Trip.com, and Maggie contacted me within an hour to confirm the tour details. Maggie was particularly helpful and accommodating, as we wanted to tailor and add Mount Muztagh Glacier to our itinerary. We received our driver's information the night before our day tour – providing peace of mind. On the day, Mr. Jiao, our guide, was hospitable and attentive to customers. He has excellent knowledge and was attentive throughout. When we set off, he bought drinking water early in the morning. When we arrived at Mount Muztagh with high alpity, he went to buy an oxygen tank again. When we had some mild high-altition, he carefully slowed down the car. We were very satisfied with the whole tour. Mr. Jiao was warm and hospitable, and very attentive to his customers. He was very knowledgeable and considerate of everything along the way. He bought drinking water for us well in advance. When we experienced altitude sickness at Muztagh Ata, he bought oxygen cylinders. He carefully reminded us when we had mild altitude sickness and slowed down the car; he's a very thoughtful person. We were very satisfied with the entire trip, including the journey through Baisha Mountain, Muztagh Ata, and the Pamir Plateau 👍🏼, and it was full of laughter. 😊

The details stated that the tour departed with a minimum of 2 people, which was absolutely true; we were all shocked that the tour actually started. Mr. Gao was very punctual, waiting at the door early. The car was comfortable and felt quite new. Mr. Gao mentioned the model, but we weren't familiar with the brand 😂. The car was clean and tidy, with no unpleasant smells. Mr. Gao drove very steadily; even though we are prone to motion sickness, we didn't get sick at all on such a long journey. Mr. Gao, being a seasoned driver, knows the roads very well and provided a vivid lesson in local culture. We asked him anything we didn't understand, and he could always offer some insight. The scenery along the way was truly beautiful. From the very first light of dawn, we could see the Kunlun Mountains peeking out in the distance, with crows circling gracefully in the sky. The sun slowly rose behind us, the clouds adorned with pale pink ribbons, and yellow poplar trees stood on both sides of the road. We had obtained our border permits in advance, so we didn't need to stop to process them on the road. If there wasn't time to process them, Mr. Gao would lead the way, but that would take half an hour to an hour (because there would be tour groups). Gradually, we got closer and closer to the snow-capped mountains. From only seeing their outlines, to seeing snowflakes blown by the wind on the summit, to clearly seeing the mountain's texture, and finally, touching Muztagh Ata with our own hands. On the way to Muztagh Ata, we passed White Sand Lake. The deep blue water, like a sapphire hidden in the light morning mist, and the delicate sand dunes with their smooth, elegant curves were breathtaking. For a moment, I wondered if I was at the seaside, but Teacher Gao said we were lucky; the weather was perfect, hence the beautiful scenery. After descending from Muztagh Ata, we slowly admired White Sand Lake in the scenic area. Its natural curves unfolded before us, the delicate sand dunes blending seamlessly with the surrounding rugged snow-capped mountains. The blue lake shimmered with tiny sparkles in the sunlight, like fish leaping on the surface. The wind was relentless, but carried the warmth of the sun. We took many beautiful photos. White Sand Lake is absolutely stunning; its pure color is breathtaking, and every shot looks like a scene from a Chinese geography documentary. 👍 Finally, the blue lake, white sand, snow-capped mountains, moon, and sun unfolded before us, like a scene from a dream. At that moment, freedom and happiness seemed to simultaneously arrive in my heart. The wind on the Pamir Plateau can blow everything away, but it filled my increasingly empty soul. I am truly grateful for the prosperity and strength of our motherland, which gives us the opportunity to slowly appreciate this beautiful scenery. Finally, I highly recommend this tour; it's absolutely worth it. Sometimes, Mr. Gao might not reply to messages promptly while driving, but you can directly call his customer service number. We booked this tour after calling him and hearing his explanations, which made us feel he was reliable and responsible. We two girls were initially a little worried about coming to Xinjiang, and we have high standards for restrooms. Mr. Gao would stop at clean and free restrooms, demonstrating his reliability in both words and actions. We were among the first group of guests on Mr. Gao's tour. I've never written such a long review before, but everything was so serendipitous and so wonderful that I've written such a long post. But Mr. Gao deserves it! Meeting such a driver on a trip is so lucky; Xinjiang no longer feels so distant and unfamiliar.
