Larnaca Salt Lake
Larnaca Salt Lake is located in the southwest of the Larnaca urban area in Cyprus. It is a wetland complex composed of four salt lakes of varying sizes and is one of the largest salt lake wetlands in Cyprus. The lake view changes significantly with the seasons. In winter, rainfall fills the lake basin, forming a continuous shallow water area where brine shrimp thrive, providing an abundant food source for migratory birds. As summer arrives, the high temperatures of the Mediterranean accelerate evaporation, causing the lake surface to gradually recede and leaving behind a large white salt crust on the lake bed, presenting a wild landscape completely different from that of winter. Natural trails are laid out in the lake area, allowing visitors to stroll, birdwatch, and take photographs. Please keep a distance while visiting to minimize disturbance to the resident birds. It’s a small but a beautiful church inside out, day and night where witnesses many weddings. I have watched 2 wedding in a roll, very interesting. Most beautiful historical building in Larnaca in my opinion.

during rainy months, the salt lake fills with water and Flamingos can be seen! During drier months it will dry out and you can walk across the Lake!very good view points to watch the sunset.I recommend booking a cycle tour with Sunny Cycles Larnaca and ask for Fethon, great guy and guide!!
