Product details

On this tour we are going to visit the Girona coast, christened 100 years ago as the Costa Brava.  The name is due to its unique rocky, rugged and cut shape coastline, composed of small coves surrounded by pine forests and lapped by crystal water.

In addition to the characteristic relief of its coast, the Costa Brava is also famous for its lovely towns. They were formerly small fishermen towns, full of houses with white-washed walls as well as medieval towns with stone buildings and narrow streets; to this day, they still retain their unique charm.

Throughout the day, we will reveal the most representative and emblematic towns of unparalleled beauty on the Costa Brava. As we explore these towns, we will also discover their diverse landscapes and contrasts. Their world acclaimed beaches will take your breath away.

Our departure is from the Bus Station: “Barcelona Nord” at 8:30am, we recommend being there about 15 minutes before.

We will take the motorway and around 10:15am, we shall arrive in Calella de Palafrugell. It is a small fisherman's village that still retains today the traditional appearance of the past.

It is a village of great beauty in both architecture and landscape. Scattered with small bays, the town is a fusion of land and sea which create a uniquely beautiful setting.

We will have free time to explore the village, enjoy the scenery and for sure, take great photographs.

About 11:15am, we will take a stroll along the path called “Camino de Ronda”, which takes us to the neighborhood town of Llafranc. The “Camino de Ronda” borders the entire Costa Brava and was used to control maritime smuggling. Today, thanks to this road, you can discover beautiful spots that wouldn't be accessible otherwise.

Llafranc is also a small, elegant and captivating seaside town, with all the delightfulness of the towns on this coast. You will have free time for lunch and taste the typical fishermen's cuisine of this area. If you wish, you may also go for a swim in the Mediterranean Sea at its splendid beach.

Our next visit will be Begur, a town with elegant mansions located beneath an old castle and famous for its “Indian Houses”. The so-called “Indians” were the town's inhabitants who immigrated to America in the 18th century; they made a fortune and upon their retirement, they returned and built these elegant mansions. As you stroll along its streets, you will discover this uniquely beautiful architecture which features a unique blend of Mediterranean and Caribbean styles.

Our next stops will be the towns of Peratallada and Pals, which are considered to be the best conserved medieval towns in Catalonia.

Peratallada, declared a Historical-Artistic Site and Cultural Asset of National Interest, is one of the most outstanding examples of the country's medieval architecture. You will be amazed by its peculiar location on top of a rock, as well as the spectacular moat excavated inside it, which surrounds the town.

Upon arrival, we will take a stroll through its narrow winding streets, discover its original castle-palace, its exceptional fortification system and its stone houses whose streets have been virtually unchanged by the passage of time.

The last stop will be Pals, declared Cultural Asset of National Interest, a town located inland and on top of a hill. The village is built entirely in an integrated medieval site. At the top, there is a cylindrical tower from the 12th century, which is visible from far away.  It has an excellent terrace that offers stunning views of the Costa Brava and surroundings.

Walking through the cobbled streets, you will feel like you have gone back in time. Take time to appreciate the round arches, facades with pointed window arches, stone balconies, all perfectly restored.

At 18:00 the tour is finished and we go back to Barcelona, where we shall arrive at around 20:00.
