▼Ieoh Ming Pei’s Paradise-Meixiu Art MuseumThe Meixiu Art Museum was designed by the famous architect Mr. I.M. Pei. What is unique about it is that in addition to being far away from the city, what is special is that 80% of the building is buried underground, but it is not a real underground building. Because the ground is a nature reserve, there are many restrictions under Japan's Nature Conservation Law, so the construction method was adopted to protect the natural environment and integrate with the surrounding scenery. This design clearly reflects the designer I.M. Pei's concept: to create a paradise on earth. What I.M. Pei shows us is such an ideal picture: a mountain, a valley, and buildings hidden in the clouds and mist. Many ancient Chinese literature and paintings revolve around a theme: walking through a long , the winding path leads to a thatched cottage in the mountains. It is hidden in silence, accompanied only by the sound of waterfalls... It is a fairyland far away from the world. There is also a beautiful cherry blossom tunnel during the cherry blossom season. Admission Tickets: 1,100 yen; Admission Tickets for special exhibitions are 1,300 yen▼Hachimanbori Feel the traditional Japanese architecture along the moatHachimanbori has the scenery of a traditional Japanese water town. During the construction of the city, a moat about 6 kilometers long and 15 meters wide was dug around Hachimanyama Castle and connected to Lake Biwa. Hachimanbori is a classic street in Omi Hachiman, with white-walled earthen walls and stone paths on both sides of the river bank. It is full of Edo period style and is also the location for many period dramas. In the ancient city nourished by Lake Biwa, many buildings and structures still maintain their appearance hundreds of years ago, with flowers blooming and fading, and the moon waxing and waning.▼Old Bamboo Forest Garden (about 60 minutes)Old Bamboo Forest Courtyard. A garden at the foot of Mount Hiei was once the retreat of the eminent monks on Mount Hiei. Today it is famous for its Zen-filled garden and perfect-tasting matcha. It is a symbol of Japan, a national park and the largest lake. It is a designated lake under Japan's Special Measures for Lake and Swamp Water Quality Conservation Act and is included in the Ramsar Convention's list of internationally important wetlands. Lake Biwa, like Mount Fuji, is regarded by the Standard Price as a symbol of Japan and is affectionately known as the "Lake of Life".Shirakushi Shrine was founded in 1900 and has an ancient history. The scenery here is charming, with Okishima floating above the horizon forming the background, and fishing boats passing between the torii gates in the lake. The water torii gate of Shirasu Shrine stands quietly in Lake Biwa and is favored by countless photography enthusiasts. At night, the torii gate will be lit up, making the scenery even more charming.
