Siberia Tiger Park

Due to the deteriorating habitat of wild Siberian tigers, in 1986 the Chinese government established the China Hengdaohezi Feline Breeding Center (hereinafter referred to as the "Center") in Hengdaohezi Town, Hailin City, Heilongjiang Province, to protect the endangered Siberian tiger. This is China's first captive breeding base primarily focused on the off-site protection of Siberian tigers, marking the beginning of nearly four decades of captive breeding and scientific research on tiger protection. In 1996, to better protect these tigers, the Center established the Heilongjiang Siberia Tiger Park in Harbin. By developing the tourism and viewing value of Siberian tigers, it supports the protection, scientific research, and rewilding training of Siberian tigers through a "tigers support tigers" approach. Heilongjiang Siberia Tiger Park is located on the north bank of the Songhua River, covering an area of approximately 1.44 million square meters. It is a national 4A-level tourist attraction. Currently, the park is the largest captive breeding base for Siberian tigers in the country, with about 700 purebred Siberian tigers. It is a comprehensive enterprise integrating Siberian tiger breeding, scientific research and protection, science education, and tourism. The Siberian tiger, also known as the Amur tiger, is the largest living feline. Adult Siberian tigers are 1.2-2 meters long, with a tail about 1 meter long, and weigh 100-200 kilograms, sometimes reaching around 320 kilograms. They are mainly distributed in Northeast China and Siberia, Russia. The Siberian tiger has a large, round head with several black horizontal stripes on its forehead, often connected in the middle, resembling the Chinese character "王" (wang, meaning king). Its summer fur is short and dark, brownish-yellow, while its winter fur is long and light, yellow or pale yellow. Its back and sides have many horizontal black stripes, often two close together in a willow-leaf shape. Its ears are short and round, black on the back with a white patch in the center. The chin, abdomen, and inner sides of the limbs are nearly white, and the tail has black rings with a black tip. Its thick fur can withstand temperatures as low as -45°C. Siberian tigers inhabit forests, shrublands, and areas overgrown with wild grasses. They are solitary, have no fixed dens, exhibit territorial behavior, and are mostly active in the evening or at dusk. They have keen senses, are fierce by nature, move swiftly, and are good swimmers. They prey on medium and large mammals, and occasionally eat small mammals and birds. The Siberian tiger is a flagship species in the ecosystem and a nationally protected animal. With its unique majestic posture and presence, it brings people joy and the enjoyment of returning to nature. Protecting the Siberian tiger is a need for the harmonious coexistence and sustainable development of humanity and nature, and it is also a concrete manifestation of practicing the concept of ecological civilization construction.Harbin · 97.2km from Suihua

You can choose between a boat tour and a train tour in the scenic area. It is recommended to take a large loop boat tour, where you can watch flocks of birds flying on the water and on the island, which is extremely shocking. Then you can take a train around the island to enjoy the beautiful scenery of the wetland park.

The exhibition boards are rich in pictures and text, depicting farming life, such as oxen plowing, rice planting, spring sowing, etc. The exquisite plaques hanging on the corridor introduce China's traditional culture.

It was fun and I think it should be safe. After getting the ticket, you have to go to the starting point about 6 or 7 kilometers away. You need to prepare dry clothes for changing. Waterproof mobile phone bags are sold on site. There is a dressing room at the end where you can take a shower. You need to take a bus back to the starting point for 10 yuan per person. Overall it's good.

This is definitely worth a visit. Even in the freezing winter, the surrounding scenery is very beautiful. This is the characteristic of the north. It is very suitable for taking photos here on snowy days!

One of the best attractions in Suihua City, it's very large, with fresh air, many forest trails, fitness equipment, and numerous squares. There's a large lotus pond and a tower, but unfortunately, I didn't get to the base of the tower. There are many animals, including miniature horses, and an amusement park. Many cycling enthusiasts frequented it. Admission is free. Unfortunately, there's no direct bus; you have to take a taxi. On the way back, ride-hailing services were scarce; I waited half an hour before someone accepted my order. It's actually very close to the train station, only a little over 3 kilometers away. Tourism in Suihua seems underdeveloped and neglected; the restrooms at the attractions were particularly dirty and rudimentary.

A beautiful place filled with stunning ice sculptures illuminated by colourful lights. I had such a wonderful time exploring the place, although the temperature was extremely cold. However, getting a Didi ride back at night was very difficult, so I had no choice but to take the bus instead.

A great place for visitors of all ages, from babies to the elderly! The park is very family-friendly and offers a unique experience for everyone. The bus driver who took us into the tiger park was very professional and knowledgeable. You can even buy meat directly from the driver on the bus to feed the tigers, which makes the experience even more exciting! There are so many tigers in the park that it is truly impressive and almost unbelievable to see them up close. It’s a fascinating experience to observe these magnificent animals in their natural-like environment.Overall, it’s definitely worth a visit if you’re in Harbin. Highly recommended for families, animal lovers, and anyone looking for a unique and memorable experience!
