Lake Ashi (あしのこ) was formed by volcanic activity more than 3,000 years ago. It is a volcanic lake located in the west of Hakone Town at the foothills of Hakone Mountain. It is the largest lake in Kanagawa. Because it has Mount Fuji in the background, it has become a famous tourist attraction.
