Chiang Rai Mae Khachan hot spring is a natural hot spring. According to the elders in Pong Nam Ron village, there was no village here in the past, only a primeval forest formerly called Pong Din. Animals of all sizes would often come down to eat salt licks. The hot spring area also served as a passageway for merchants traveling between Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai. Using oxen and horses as transportation along the mountainside, it was considered an overnight stop because the area was a large courtyard with a convenient location and natural hot springs.
The highlight of Wat Rong Khun - White Temple in Chiang Rai is its white-decorated chapel floor. Adorned with captivating glass decorations, it appears both beautiful and extraordinary. The stucco features Thai patterns. Particularly striking are the Buddha images behind the main principal image and those on the northern side, decorated with mythical half-elephant half-bird creatures. The interior chapel murals, painted by Ajarn Chalermchai Kositpipat himself, create an exceptionally beautiful sight.
Rong Suea Ten Temple This property has been renovated. The creative work comes from Ajarn Nok (Mr. Phutta Kapkaew) or Sala Nok, a reunion of local Chiang Rai artists and Rong Suea Ten villagers. The construction of a temple hall showcases contemporary Buddhist art that embodies the hidden teachings of Buddha. The temple walls feature deep blue and blue hues, creating a serene and cool atmosphere, complemented by delicate wall patterns in white and gold tones. The flowing design resembles a river, making it stand out from other temples with its unusual color scheme. This concept aims to encourage Buddhists to return to temples to study Buddha's teachings for practical application in daily life.
Chiang Rai golden triangle is the border area between Thailand, Laos and Myanmar, located at the confluence of the Ruak and Mekong rivers. The term "golden triangle" was coined by the CIA to describe the overlapping area of these three countries.
