Edinburgh Castle stands on an extinct volcano in the center of the city. Its history can be traced back to the 6th century. It has served as a royal residence, military fortress and prison and is a witness to Scotland's history. This is the highest point in Edinburgh, and you can overlook the panoramic view of Edinburgh from the castle. The National Museum of Scotland, this museum was formed by the merger of the original Scottish Museum and the Royal Museum of Scotland. It is considered one of the most outstanding buildings in Scotland in the 20th century. It adds a lively modern flavor to the old town of Edinburgh. The building surface is made of Scottish golden sandstone. It shows its weathered ancient appearance. Victoria Street is a short street not far southeast of Edinburgh Castle. The street has undulating slopes. The buildings on both sides of the road are very beautiful and you can stop and take photos. Calton Hill is located east of Edinburgh and is dotted with many historic and elegant buildings. This is also the highest point in Edinburgh. Walking along the top of the mountain, you can have a spectacular panoramic view of Edinburgh. Every sunrise and sunset, many tourists come here to enjoy the beautiful scenery and often take beautiful photos. Standing on the top of the mountain and looking west, you have a beautiful view of the whole city, with the magnificent Edinburgh Castle standing in the distance. Looking eastward, we see the blue Firth of Forth. To the south are the Scottish Parliament Building, Palace of Holyroodhouse, etc.
