Doi Inthanon National Park is Thailand's national nature reserve, covering an area of 1,005 square kilometers. It boasts Doi Inthanon, one of Thailand's highest mountains with a peak elevation of 2,565 meters. While this may seem modest compared to other global mountain ranges, it represents an impressive height for Thailand. Surrounded by peaks, the park features numerous hiking trails, waterfalls, and two commemorative stupas. In addition to being popular among visitors on 1-day tours from Chiang Mai, the park is also highly favored by local residents of Chiang Mai.
Wachirathan Waterfall is a large, multi-tiered cascade that plunges from towering cliffs into a deep pool, showcasing nature's raw power. Located quite far from Chiang Mai's Old City, it's not very convenient to visit independently. Joining a Doi Inthanon day tour would be more suitable, as it also includes visits to several nearby attractions.
