The Great Wall stretches for miles, but Jinshanling stands out in its beauty. I highly recommend everyone visit the Jinshanling Great Wall! Our guide, Susie, and the driver who took us to the Great Wall were both wonderful, giving us very helpful directions and advice. They were especially great!

On our journey to the Jinshanling section of the Great Wall, we made a delightful stop for a tea ceremony. It was well worth it! Our first stop at the wall was in a quieter area, allowing us to appreciate its vastness. Since we chose the late tour, we were treated to a mesmerizing sunset over the landscape. Our guide, Andy, shared fascinating details about the history of the wall, enhancing our experience.
Next, we enjoyed dinner at a charming farmhouse, where we savored delicious local cuisine. Our final stop was Gubei Water Town, where we took a cable car up to the lit Wall section. The view at night was simply stunning, and we concluded our evening with a stroll through the beautifully lit streets of Gubei Water Town before returning to the car. Overall, it was a magical day filled with cultural richness and breathtaking sights!★

Doing this trip during the winter was so worth it- there was almost no one else at the Jinshaling section of the wall when we were there! If it is snowy/icy, I wouldn't recommend going to Jinshaling though as it will be too slippery (there were some steep climbs). The driver was there on time to drop us off at the wall and was there again to take us back. One thing I would say is that you do NOT get a guide with this tour, basically just a driving service- I thought that wasn't very clear on the description. Everything else was great, no complaints 👍★

SPECTACULAR! We had the entire Great Wall to ourselves all day, and as a bonus, we also got to visit the water village of Simatai while we waited for the rest of the group! By far the best experience!! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED★

I joined the tour at the last minute, so I didn't have high expectations. However, our tour guide, Susie, was surprisingly considerate of us. The bus first dropped off the larger group at Gubei Water Town, and then we transferred to a minibus to Jinshanling. I must say, the minibus driver, Mr. An, was incredibly thoughtful. He took care of every single tourist. He even urged us to get on the bus quickly in the evening because it was getting chilly.
Jinshanling Great Wall. I descended the mountain from the East Five-Eyed Tower. Every snapshot I took was a beautiful scene. If you have enough time, I recommend watching the sunrise in the morning and the sunset in the evening. This way, you can see the golden hues of Jinshanling.

My day trip to the Jinshanling Great Wall hike was hands down the highlight of my trip! 🌟 I can’t recommend this experience enough, the scenery was breathtaking and the hike itself truly unforgettable. A special shoutout to Zachary for being such a fantastic organiser – always responsive, attentive, and willing to go above and beyond to make everything run smoothly. If you’re thinking about visiting the Great Wall, you absolutely won’t regret choosing this hike!
