Surfers Paradise

Introductory surfing course The courses are for children aged 6 to 12 and run throughout the school holidays. They are available 3 mornings per week (more during peak periods) and on Saturday mornings throughout the academic year. Children's classes have a lower instructor-to-student ratio of 4:1 to ensure maximum safety and fun. The Introductory Surfing Course is a prerequisite to our Beginner Surfing Course and we include the following- Identify components of surfboards and equipment- Basic surfing awareness- Identify hazards in surfing- Learn the steps to stand on a surfboard- Ride a breaking wave in white water with the help of your instructor- How to land safely in the shallows Our shop is located behind Seaway Cafe, at the end of Seaworld Drive Main Beach. Seaway Cafe is located in the car park and parking is free all day. Sign-in is 15 minutes before class starts, and to find us, just walk on the right between the cafe and facilities area and come in through the back door. Be prepared: We really need you to have your swimsuit on when you arrive so we can start class on time. We'll check you in, make sure everyone has arrived, grab your wetsuits and surfboards, and head to the beach. Mom or Dad can come in and help with the surfboards if you wish, but we keep kids in groups to make it easier for the instructor to lead. Let's get started: this is where you have to listen, the instructor will go through a very important safety briefing on the conditions for your surfing day, followed by some very simple tips to help you get on the board as easily as possible and maximize your Improve your vertical time on your surfboard and of course how to land safely.
