The local KAREN communities have a long-standing tradition of caring for elephants, treating them like family. To aid in their elephant care without exploitation, we created KERCHOR Eco Elephant Park in collaboration with the KAREN community in BAN SOP WIN, Chiang Mai province. Unlike other parks that offer elephant rides and shows, the community wanted a more ethical and sustainable approach. Our method encourages elephant-friendly tourism, allowing the elephants to enjoy their favorite activities like eating, walking in the forest, playing, and bathing. Visitors can learn about the elephants' daily lives, interact with them, and help care for them, all without any performances or riding.
ITINERARY
Half Day Morning Session
07:00 | Pick up from each meeting point/hotel
08:30 | Arrive at Kerchor Elephant Eco Park Tour
--Change into traditional clothing and prepare fruits for elephants
10:00 | Meet the elephants.Feed,interact and play with the elephants
--and get muddy as you learn about their behavior and history
--Take photos with the elephants
11:30 | Get some tea, coffee and season fruit
--And love certificate,then say goodbye to the elephants
12:30 | Transfer back to the hotel and Disband
