Itinerary:
Gather at the alley west of Huayuan Hotel on Yingze Street at 6:30 AM, then take a bus to Qingxu, the Vinegar Capital of China. Visit the national AAAA-level attraction—Baoyuan Old Vinegar Workshop (1 hr tour).
Then head to Qi County, the hometown of Shanxi merchants, the birthplace of Jin merchant culture and the Ancient Tea Route. Visit the filming location of "Raise the Red Lantern" – [Qiao Family Compound AAAA] (1.5 hr visit).
Explore the history of Shanxi merchants and their business philosophy. After lunch, head to the UNESCO World Heritage Site and the birthplace of Shanxi merchant culture—Pingyao Ancient City.
Visit the well-preserved [Ming Dynasty Ancient City Wall], explore the remarkably intact [Ancient County Government Office], and tour the Rishengchang Exchange Shop or Xie Tongqing Exchange Shop. Then stroll along [Ming-Qing Street] during your free time, admiring the streets, market towers, shops, and residences that retain their Ming Dynasty style. Experience the charm and profound cultural heritage of this ancient town, with an overnight stay in Pingyao.
