Kansai Wide Area Pass (5-day)

1. Must hold a passport issued by a government other than Japan, including Japanese nationals who have obtained permanent residency abroad. Japanese citizens are not eligible to use this service.

Student visa and work visa holders are not eligible to use this.

3. Available to visitors holding "temporary visitor" status who enter Japan for tourism purposes.

4. Adult: 12 years and older (must be 12 or older on the date of exchange certificate issuance or rail pass purchase); Child: 6–11 years old (must be 6–11 years old on the date of exchange certificate issuance or rail pass purchase). An adult rail pass holder can bring up to 2 children (aged 1–5) for free. A child rail pass must be purchased for the third child or any additional child. Infants under 1 year old travel for free. Please note that a child rail pass is required in the following cases: when a child occupies a reserved seat (ordinary car reserved seat) alone; when a child travels alone.

Rail passes are real-name tickets and are only valid for the ticket holder.

6. Please carry your passport when using the Japan Rail Pass, as JR staff may request to see it.

7. Please keep your ticket in a safe place. Tickets cannot be reissued if lost or stolen.

8. If you use automated gates when entering Japan, your passport will not be stamped. Please use staffed automated gates or request a stamp from the immigration officer. Once you start using the pass, its validity cannot be extended and no refunds will be given for train suspensions, delays, or any other reason. Additionally, we are not responsible for any additional transportation, accommodation, or other costs incurred due to changes in your itinerary.

9. Cannot be changed to tickets other than this pass. When taking trains beyond the valid range of the pass, additional fares and tickets for the extended portion must be purchased separately.
