Please gather at the Vienna Hotel in the North Square of Suzhou Railway Station between 1:40 PM and 2:00 PM. We will then depart for Zhouzhuang, Suzhou.
Zhouzhuang: China's Premier Water Town
Located in Suzhou, Jiangsu, Zhouzhuang is hailed as "China's Premier Water Town" and a model of Jiangnan's ancient canal towns. Its charm lies in the perfect blend of water and bridges. Surrounded by rivers, the town is built along and over the water. Fourteen ancient stone bridges from the Yuan, Ming, and Qing dynasties connect its tranquil lanes, with the iconic Twin Bridges (Shide and Yong'an) resembling an old-fashioned key. Along narrow canals stand well-preserved Ming and Qing buildings—white walls, dark tiles, carved windows—and grand residences like Shen House and Zhang House, whispering tales of past prosperity.
'Only Zhouzhuang' Performance': A Dream of Light and Shadow
This is an immersive water and light show staged on Zhouzhuang's real canals and classical gardens. Breaking from traditional theater, it combines digital water-screen projections, architectural mapping, lighting, and live performance. It transforms local cultural symbols—like the legend of Shen Wansan, water-town weddings, and fishing life—into stunning visual poetry. Instead of sitting, the audience moves through themed scenes ("Fishing," "Farming," "Trade," "Romance"), stepping into a flowing dream.
Return:
We will depart from Zhouzhuang around 7:30 PM and arrive back at the Vienna Hotel in the North Square of Suzhou Railway Station by approximately 8:30 PM.
