Itinerary Overview
After gathering in the morning, watch the changing of the guard ceremony in front of the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at Syntagma Square on the hour. Then visit the Acropolis of Athens and the Acropolis Museum. The Acropolis of Athens is a testament to the brilliance of ancient Greek civilization and the birthplace of democracy. Majestically perched on a rocky hill above Athens, this UNESCO World Heritage Site offers breathtaking historical views.
Arrive at Plaka Old Town at noon, wander through its narrow streets, admire the neoclassical architecture, and enjoy a leisurely lunch here, soaking in the vibrant atmosphere of Athens.
Afterwards, we arrived at the Temple of Zeus at the southeast corner of the Acropolis of Athens. Passing through the 18m-high Hadrian's Arch, we continued our visit to the Panathenaic Stadium, the venue of the first Olympic Games. Then we proceeded to the National Garden of Athens, immersing ourselves in the lush greenery of the national botanical garden, concluding our delightful journey.
If you wish to visit Lycabettus Hill afterward to overlook Athens and enjoy the Acropolis sunset, we can drop you off at the Lycabettus cable car station.

Syntagma Square
Greece was occupied by the Nazis at the time, and like many other countries, most of the resistance came from communists. In December 1944, the British army arrived in Athens to liberate Greece, but the Germans had already left. Instead, the British turned their guns on the guerrillas who had fought against the Germans. They also tried to establish a non-communist Greece with other collaborators.

You don't have to travel all over Greece to buy souvenirs from different regions. In Athens' old town, Plaka, you can find a wide variety of souvenirs at low prices. The Plaka district is very large and has many shops, so you'll need to spend some time comparing them.
Acropolis of Athens
The Acropolis of Athens is a sacred site embodying the faith and glory of the Greek people, an outstanding ancient architectural complex, and a center of religious and political life. The Acropolis of Athens covers an area of approximately 4 square kilometers and is located on Acropolis Hill in the center of Athens.
