The Archaeological Site of Nea Paphos sits on a small peninsula beside the town. Spanning a massive 106.4 hectares, it is protected as a World Heritage Site. The preserved Roman frescoes and mosaics are breathtaking, with the primary ruins dating back to the Roman Empire of the 2nd–3rd centuries. Among the many monuments, the House of Dionysos is particularly iconic, featuring numerous exquisitely crafted mosaics depicting Greek mythological tales with such vivid detail that they are truly masterpieces.Cyprus · Paphos

12 reviews
Archaeological Site of the Tombs of the Kings is located in the Paphos District, Cyprus, and is a site of significant historical and archaeological value. Despite the name "Tombs of the Kings," no kings were buried here; it served as a burial place for Paphos's aristocrats and officials. The site dates back to the 4th century BC and showcases architectural styles from the ancient Greek and Roman periods. The tombs are famous for their magnificent underground burial chambers and exquisite stone carvings. The design of the chambers mimics the residential architecture of the time, reflecting the importance ancient aristocrats placed on the afterlife. Travelers can stroll through the site, explore the well-preserved chambers and stone pillars, and experience the charm of ancient civilization. Archaeological Site of the Tombs of the Kings is a UNESCO World Heritage site that attracts many history enthusiasts and travelers. Located north of the Paphos city center, it is easily accessible by public transportation or car. We recommend wearing comfortable shoes for walking around the site. There are several restaurants and cafes nearby, making it convenient for travelers to rest and dine after their visit. Archaeological Site of the Tombs of the Kings is not only a window into the history of Cyprus but also an unforgettable cultural journey.Cyprus · Paphos

Located on the west coast of Cyprus, this world-shattering ancient city is a well-known archaeological site in Cyprus. The main attraction here is the ancient amphitheatre of Curion, which can seat 2,000 people. The theater was built in the second century BC and rebuilt in the second century AD. At that time, it could accommodate more than 3,500 spectators. Large-scale concerts and operas are still performed here. The background of the amphitheater is the blue sky, green mountains and the sea. The natural landscape and ancient and modern characters are intertwined on the same stage. Tragedy and comedy interpret the vicissitudes of the world and historical customs.Cyprus · Episkopi

The Paphos Tombs of the Kings are located on the seashore, next to the Mediterranean Sea. Tourists are happily taking photos here, which looks a bit like Tomb Raider. What is strange is that there is an abandoned cargo ship floating on the sea not far from the Tombs of the Kings. Because of an accident in a storm, the shipping cost was too high and it was abandoned at sea.
