Lake Como is a lake carved by glacial movement, covering an area of 146 square kilometers and shaped like an inverted Y. The lake reaches depths of over 400 m, making it one of the deepest lakes in Europe. Surrounded on three sides by thefoothills of the Alps, the shoreline is long and winding, and the mild microclimate regulated by the lake allows Mediterranean plants like olives and citrus to grow along the shores, creating a distinct transition from the alpine vegetation on the hillsides. For centuries, the scenery of Lake Como has attracted numerous artists. French novelist Flaubert, and composers Rossini, Verdi, and Bellini have all drawn inspiration here. The eastern shore also features hiking trails restored from ancient paths, where you can climb to enjoy a panoramic view of the confluence of the lake's two branches and take in the beautiful scenery.Menaggio · 26.7km from Como

Piazza del Duomo is located in the center of Milan, surrounded by many important buildings, including the landmark of Milan, the cathedral. The square gradually developed with the construction of the cathedral and was named after it. In the center of the square stands the equestrian bronze statue of Vittorio Emanuele II, the first king of the Kingdom of Italy. Around the square, there are also a series of important buildings such as the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, the neoclassical-style royal palace, and the cathedral museum. On the square, you can see flocks of leisurely strolling pigeons, and sometimes in the evening, you may encounter impromptu street performances. The area near the square is home to many shopping malls, boutiques, and high-end restaurants, making it a well-known leisure and shopping district in Milan.Milan · 39.1km from Como

Santa Maria delle Grazie is located in the west of Milan, on the south side of the Sforza Castle. This red Catholic building consists of a church and a Dominican monastery. It is famous for the fresco "The Last Supper" by Leonardo da Vinci in the monastery's refectory. It was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1980. . The Last Supper "The Last Supper" was created by Leonardo da Vinci in the 15th century, using innovative and bold painting techniques combining oil and tempera, creating a unique perspective effect, but also easily eroded. On August 15, 1943, the church and the congregation were bombed by British and American aircraft, and most of the canteen of the congregation was destroyed, but the wall on which The Last Supper was located survived. Centuries later, 80 percent of the painting's colors had faded, and restoration work began in 1977 and continued for 22 years. At present, the number of visitors is strictly controlled, and the number of visitors cannot exceed 30 at a time. In addition to the "Last Supper", the church building itself is also worth seeing. The church was built under the auspices of Duke Sforzesco and was finally completed in 1490. It was once used as the tomb of the Sforzesco family. Later, when the French invaded, the cultural relics and treasures in the church were looted, but the exquisite dome and frescoes were still preserved. The sacristy is now the Dominican cultural center, and often holds some salons and art exhibitions.Milan · 38.6km from Como

The Last Supper is a mural painting by the Italian High Renaissance artist Leonardo da Vinci, dated to c. 1495–1498, housed in the refectory of the Convent of Santa Maria delle Grazie in Milan, Italy. The painting represents the scene of the Last Supper of Jesus with the Twelve Apostles, as it is told in the Gospel of John – specifically the moment after Jesus announces that one of his apostles will betray him. Its handling of space, mastery of perspective, treatment of motion and complex display of human emotion has made it one of the Western world's recognizable paintings and among Leonardo's celebrated works. Some commentators consider it pivotal in inaugurating the transition into what is now termed the High Renaissance.Milan · 38.6km from Como

Old Town Lugano is located in the Canton of Ticino in southern Switzerland, nestled on the shores of Lake Lugano and bordering Italy. Palm trees and outdoor cafes can be seen on the streets, and the Mediterranean-style laid-back atmosphere makes it stand out at the foot of the Alps. Piazza Riforma is surrounded by cafes and restaurants and is a gathering hub for locals. Turning from here into Via Nassa, the old arcades are lined with watch shops, jewelry stores, and boutiques, where you can admire the historic buildings along the street while shopping. The steps of the Cathedral of Saint Lawrence are a great spot to overlook the lake, while the Church of Santa Maria degli Angioli houses large frescoes by Renaissance painter Bernardino Luini. Parco Ciani by the lake was originally a 19th-century private estate. Today, it is surrounded by greenery with neat flower beds and is a place for locals to go for morning jogs and picnics. The lakeside promenade connects to the pier, where you can take a boat to tour the lake during the day and visit the small stone-house fishing villages on the opposite shore. If you want to enjoy the view from above, take a cable car up to Monte San Salvatore or Monte Brè, where you can take in the lake scenery, the ridges of the Alps, and the valleys toward Italy. On summer evenings, the lakeside is exceptionally comfortable with a gentle breeze, the outdoor cafes are bustling, and street performances often light up the night, creating a perfect vacation atmosphere.Lugano · 24.1km from Como

visited lake como in November 2023, I wouldn’t recommend going at that time of the year as we experienced a lot of rain, nonetheless it was still a beautiful place, with lots to do! We went to Bellagio and Varenna by ferry, which was super easy to use and both places were breathtaking

Landmark Significance: As the city center of Milan, the square is an irregularly shaped polygon covering approximately 12,000 square meters. It was the coronation site of the first king after the unification of Italy (Napoleon was crowned here in 1805) and is now part of a World Heritage Site.

The old town is very charming. Walking in the old streets is like going back to the old days. Walking by the lake and basking in the sun, and then going to the LV store to buy a bag, there are few people and the goods are in good condition. It is still very pleasant. I hope time can stop.

It takes about 2 km to travel to the bus stop and the pier. It's beautiful, but the entrance fee is expensive, about 900 baht. Actually, every place in Tomo is beautiful. Don't forget to check the boat schedule and opening and closing times.
