Sanqu Stone Forest is in Huibu Town, Changshan County. The scenic area is characterized by karst limestone landforms. The karst landscape of Sanqu Stone Forest is in its infancy, mainly composed of peak clusters with the clint and karst caves as the microtopography. At the same time, it is a huge ancient reef dating from the late Ordovician period, which is an important area in the South of China for studying the history of the Paleozoic Period. The karst landforms have produced a unique maze of the stone forest. Owing to geological evolution, the stone forests in the shapes of castles and patios appeared. Small karst depressions in ancient mountains and other landscapes were also formed.Changshan · 11.4km from downtown

Huangling Ancient Village is a typical mountain village, Souvenir by thousands of ancient trees and tens of thousands of acres of terraced fields, creating a idyllic mountain life like a paradise. It has a beautiful natural environment and rich history and culture. It is a famous historical and cultural village in ancient Huizhou. The ancient village of Huangling hangs on the cliff, and the ground is not flat for three feet. For hundreds of years, the villagers have been accustomed to "communicating" with the rugged terrain with a peaceful mentality, painting a picture of "people drying their crops in the sun in autumn". In March, rapeflowers are in full bloom on tens of thousands of acres of terraced fields in Huangling, dotted with pink peach blossoms and snow-white pear blossoms, forming a beautiful ink painting. Here, you can become one with nature and have close contact with the sea of flowers. At the end of March, the second phase of Huangrapeling Gaoling Terraced Fields Flower Sea came online. Due to the large altitude difference, low temperature, and late-maturing rapeseed varieties, the flowering period is relatively late, and the second phase of the flower sea can last until mid-April. Come to Huangling in summer and start a wonderful summer night trip. Take a look at the night view of the ancient village, feel the sunset glow of Huangling, the lights of thousands of houses, walk on the country road with the dancing and circling 100-meter-long dragon, stroll in the quaint streets with a lantern, feel the romance of the magic forest, watch a retro old movie at the entrance of the village, and visit the cool market in the countryside. As soon as the beginning of autumn arrives, the ancient village of Huangling becomes a drying field. Come to the people who dry autumn leaves to admire the red maple leaves, enjoy the autumn leaves drying on the roof, the maple forest is dyed red, experience the folk customs, hand-cranked windmills, pumpkin traps, etc., and feel the nostalgic charm of the people who dry autumn leaves. In winter, every household in Huangling is busy drying and processing traditional local specialties for New Year's goods. The roofs are full of preserved meat customs, "drying" folk customs and "celebrating" the harvest, which means a bumper harvest in the New Year. With the arrival of the Winter Solstice, the Huangling Folk Culture Festival begins and lasts until the Lantern Festival next year. Here, you can listen to operas, visit the market, taste food, and taste the folk customs of the New Year; bask in the warm sun, cook tea around the stove, enjoy the elegant winter things, invite family and friends to take a health-preserving warm soup, and enjoy a winter-limited snow scene. In Huangling, you can enjoy the beautiful rural scenery and experience the modern urban life. You can see the exquisite and simple Huizhou century-old houses as well as the fashion and elegance of star-rated hotels. In Huangling, tourists can not only taste authentic folk snacks such as steamed cakes, Qingming fruit, gray juice fruit, etc., but also participate in the whole process of making folk snacks and handicrafts.Wuyuan · 60km from Changshan

Jianglang Mountain is formed of the three enormous rocky peaks that dominate its summit, appearing to grow out of the earth like three rock bamboo shoots that resemble the Chinese character chuan (川). It is a classic karst topography. Mountain climbing here is a thrill. A good portion of the trail up consists of a near-vertical stairway with only a thin strip of tranquil and remote sky visible. Climbing the near-vertical stairway along the rock wall to of Jianglang Mountain is no less difficult than climbing the famous Mount Hua.Jiangshan · 41.3km from Changshan

West Lake

West Lake is undoubtedly the epitome of Hangzhou's beauty. The famous "Ten scenes of West Lake" surround its shores, where nature and culture complement each other, forming the core area of Hangzhou tourism. You don't need to visit every attraction - instead, spend half a day or a full day strolling along the lake. However you choose to enjoy it, the experience will surely lift your spirits. West Lake is the core attraction of Hangzhou, surrounded by clouds and mountains on three sides and the city on one side. The Su Causeway and Bai Causeway stretch across the lake, dividing it into several water areas. The lakeside scenery is highlighted by the "Ten Scenes of West Lake" from the Southern Song Dynasty, along with the later "New Ten Scenes" and "Three Additional Scenes," featuring over a hundred attractions along the shore and mountains. Pavilions, temples, pagodas, gardens, causeways, and islands complement the distant mountains and nearby waters, while legends like the Broken Bridge where Lady White Snake met Xu Xian add a layer of storytelling to the landscape. West Lake extends east from Songmuchang in Hangzhou and the north of Baolu Road turning to Shaoniangong Square, passing Baisha Road, Huancheng West Road, Hubin Road, and Nanshan Road to the south of Wansong Ridge, covering all attractions including Wu Mountain, Ziyang Mountain, and Yunju Mountain. To the south, it stretches from Gulou along the eastern foothills of Wu Mountain, Ziyang Mountain, and Yunju Mountain, passing Fengshanmen and Fenghuangshan Road, then following the West Lake water diversion channel to the north bank of the Qiantang River, turning to the Coral Sand Reservoir and ending north of Liufangling. To the west, it runs from Liufangling, Zhugan Mountain, Jiuqu Ridge, and Mingren Ridge to Meiren Peak, Beigaofeng, Lingfeng Mountain, and east of the ridge line of Laohe Mountain. To the north, it follows the foothills of Laohe Mountain (west wall of Zhejiang University), turns 30 m north of Qingzhiwu Road, connects to Yugu Road, Zhejiang University Road, and Shuguang Road, ending south of Songmuchang. West Lake has over 100 attractions, renowned for its "Ten scenes of West Lake", "New ten scenes of West Lake" and "Three reviews · Ten scenes of West Lake". West Lake overview You can explore West Lake on foot, by cruise, on electric bikes, via self-drive, or by riding. Among these, electric bikes are the most convenient and effortless option, with hop-on-hop-off sightseeing vehicles circling the entire lake. Riding along the lakeshore is romantic and leisurely, with many public bike rental spots available. For a boat tour, there are nearly 10 docks around the lake offering various vessels and routes. We highly recommend taking a cruise to Three Pools Mirroring the Moon at the lake center while enjoying the scenic views. Alternatively, you can hail a hand-rowed boat for a more flexible experience with a boatman guiding your tour. North line scenery The north shore of West Lake gathers quite a few attractions, usually starting from the remnant snow on broken bridge at the northeast corner and heading west all the way to Yuewang Temple. You can walk along Bai Causeway to Solitary Hill, visiting cultural attractions like Xiling Seal Engravers' Society, Zhejiang Provincial Museum, Chinese Seal Art Museum, and Zhongshan Park's Crane Pavilion. Enjoy authentic West Lake vinegar fish at Louwailou Restaurant, then cross Xiling Bridge to leave the island - Yuewang Temple and Breeze-ruffled lotus at Quyuan Garden are just a short distance away. If it's a summer day with strong sunlight, it is recommended to stroll along Beishan road, hiding under the dense shade of trees to admire the curve of Broken bridge and the swaying weeping willows on Bai causeway opposite. There are many entrances along the way leading to Precious stone hill, where you can hike for views, and descend to reach Yuewang temple. Yuewang square has many small shops for snacks, and the Impression West Lake show here in the evening is also worth watching. If you have ample time and energy, you can also head to Su causeway from here for a walk to enjoy the panoramic view of West Lake. Southeast coast (Lakeside-Nanshan Road) Another area with a concentration of attractions is the Hubin Road-Nanshan Road along the southeastern coast. Hubin Road is located at the junction between Hangzhou's urban area and the attraction, offering views of West Lake, a dock for West Lake cruises, and the iconic music fountain. The advantage of Hubin Road is its quick access from the attraction to the downtown business district, making it suitable for travelers with a tight itinerary to make a short stop. Head south from Hubin road and walk along Nanshan road, where you can visit attractions like Orioles singing in the willows, Long bridge, Leifeng pagoda, Evening bell at Nanping hill, and Viewing fish at flower harbor. The distance between adjacent attractions is not far, so you can walk or take a sightseeing bus or public transport, which are also convenient. You can arrange a day to visit a few of them according to your preference. Among them, Leifeng pagoda and Evening bell at Nanping hill can be visited in the evening. Listening to the bell at Jingci temple and overlooking the night view of West lake from Leifeng pagoda are both great experiences.China · Hangzhou

There are basically no entertainment options; it's purely hiking. If you're really interested in hiking, you can give it a try. The first half is quite steep, and the second half is gentler. My friend and I hiked for about an hour, from the entrance to the place I marked on my map. It seems there aren't any restaurants or anything like that inside the scenic area. We got hungry, and didn't have the energy to explore the other routes. The natural environment is beautiful, and the air is quite fresh. There are signs warning against snakes and insects inside the scenic area, but surprisingly, my friend and I didn't get bitten by mosquitoes or encounter any snakes during our morning hike, although we did see some lizards. The paths can be a bit narrow. The entire mountain is filled with all sorts of strangely shaped, naturally formed rocks. There are also signs along the way explaining the formation process of karst landforms, which seems more suitable for geography students, and chemistry students might also find it helpful, as the signs have a bunch of chemical equations.

I accidentally discovered a treasure of beautiful scenery when traveling in Quzhou! Plum tree bottom! There are basically no tourists here. Most of the time, it is a good place for locals to take their children to play water in summer. Locals should also be free, because there are few tourists and the scenic area is not overdeveloped. We stopped and took pictures all the way for almost an hour and did not reach the toilet mentioned by the staff of the gate scenic area. The rain during the Qingming Festival made the waterscape here very beautiful and spectacular. The water quality here is clear, unlike some other mountainous areas where the stream water becomes yellow mud water after rain. The second half of the scenic area is a large bamboo forest, and it can be seen on the slope that someone has dug spring bamboo shoots privately. When entering the scenic area, the staff said that it has been raining for the past few days, and there is water in the upper reaches. Be careful to wade across the mountain road. We didn’t go forward rashly, and we didn’t even reach the only public test of the scenic area. The scenic area should be not small! There is no excessive promotion, and I don’t know the story of the Red Army Road too well, just treat it as a walk!

Stepping into the alleyways of the ancient town is like traveling through a time tunnel. On either side are mottled brick walls, covered in climbing vines that sway gently in the breeze, seemingly whispering tales of a thousand years ago. Occasionally, the aroma of tea wafts from behind a half-open wooden door—the fragrance of an old teahouse, mingled with the sedimentation of time. Beside the ancient well, several elderly people sit together, playing chess or chatting, their smiles reflecting the tranquility and peace of the ancient town. Every step on the bluestone slabs seems to echo with history, to feel the passage of time.

Quzhou's ancient city has many photo spots; it's too hot during the day, so go out at night and you might encounter many NPCs. The streets are clean, and the food options depend on your preferences. There are also many exhibition halls, all of which close at 9 PM, which is very convenient.

The scenery was beautiful, and the cable car was very convenient. It truly lived up to its reputation as a place where one can see all five sacred mountains, with the most breathtaking views at Sanqing Mountain. I spent the night on the mountain and woke up early the next morning to see the sunrise at Yutai. It was definitely worth the trip.

This trip to Huangling was fantastic! The ancient village perched on the cliff is truly unique. The cable car up the mountain saves you the effort of a long climb. The village's attractions are concentrated in one area; the drying workshop, Wugui Hall, and the "Strange House" are all worth visiting, offering a glimpse into Huizhou folk culture. The village is beautifully illuminated in the evening, creating a different kind of charm. There are many steps, so comfortable shoes are recommended. The景区 service is excellent, and the signs are clear. It offers the best of both worlds – beautiful scenery, ancient architecture, and a chance to experience local customs – making it suitable for groups or families. It was the biggest surprise of my Wuyuan trip, highly recommended!

I suggest adding a cable car. Elderly people can't climb the mountain and have to wait at the shuttle bus stop. A cable car would be much better; they wouldn't need to go all the way to the top, but could go directly to the "One Line Sky" (一线天) and take photos to remember the trip.

My second visit to West Lake was great; the boat tour was excellent. The dock was easy to find, the staff were very friendly, provided clear explanations, and helped with any issues. There were also sightseeing buses, which were nice but a bit pricey. Taking the boat tour and then walking around was both perfectly fine.
