Haystack Rock
Haystack Rock is one of the most iconic natural landmarks on the Oregon coast. This massive sea stack stands approx. 235 feet (approx. 72 m) tall along the Pacific coast and is named for its resemblance to a traditional haystack. Formed by ancient volcanic activity over millions of years, the hard basalt structure was gradually shaped by long-term wave and wind erosion into the spectacular rock formation that stands independently off the coast today. Space Needle

My boyfriend and I came from out of state to visit a friend and the experience was great! It’s beautiful and you can walk to the beach and walk the actual trail to the viewpoint from here. It’s definitely worth the hike but the trail itself is definitely for experienced hikers. Although we struggled a little and had to hitchhike, we made it back to the bottom where there’s all kinds of shops and restaurants!

Cannon Beach is a famous day beach in Oregon. Every summer, many people from surrounding cities come here for vacation. It is different from Seattle and San Francisco. There are not so many tourists here. It is very quiet and comfortable.

A bit foggy and dreary when we went but if you’re already in the PNW when you read this...well...you’re fully aware. Despite the weather the beach is a beauty with huge cliffs sticking up out of the water. There are nearby restaurants within walking distance that have some delicious seafood and bar grub.

You can walk to the Seattle 520 Bridge from Bellevue, as shown in Figure 1. There is also a beautiful park and parking lot here. If you like to walk across the bridge, you can reach Seattle. If you like to take the bus, you can also do so. The bus station is just below the parking lot. There are many buses and the waiting time is not long. It is very convenient.
