Wat Lam Chang is a small monastery, quiet and long-standing. Early in the construction of Chiang Mai City, the elephant used for transportation entered the city and was kept in a wooded place. After that, the king ordered the construction of the monastery and named it Lam Chang. Lam Chang means "the elephant with the sloppy". Today, a large number of elephant statues are still guarding the temple.
