Qingman Temple, also known as Changwan Temple, was built in 1300. The first temple in Chiang Mai is also the oldest temple in Chiang Mai. The best building in the temple is a tower carried by 15 elephants. When Chiang Mai was built, the Manglai King camped here to supervise the whole project and built the Qingman Temple here. There are two orchid monasteries in the temple, the larger monastery was rebuilt in 1920, and there is a standing Buddha in front of the altar, built in 1465, is the earliest Buddha statue found in Chiang Mai so far. The smaller monastery has two very precious Buddha statues, Phra Sila and Phra Sea Tang Khamani, both of which have rain-making power, and are lifted up by believers to participate in the parade during the annual Songkran celebration ceremony. The Buddha statues of Sakyamuni and the crystal Buddha statues in the temple are very famous, and the Buddha statues are full of precious stones.
