Tian Tian Hainanese Chicken Rice

I went to Singapore with my friends during the summer vacation. The first meal we had when we arrived in Singapore was Tiantian Hainanese Chicken Rice at Maxwell! My friend seemed to have originally checked another Hainanese Chicken Rice, but that one was closed, so he chose Tiantian in the end. The line was very long! Ordering, paying and picking up the food was done in one go~ The boss spoke Chinese and was very quick. He called me "little sister" and made me feel like I was in a Hong Kong or Taiwan drama~ Although I don't know why Hainanese Chicken Rice is called Hainanese Chicken Rice, (and the first time I ate Hainanese Chicken Rice seemed to be in the school cafeteria..) Although it looks very simple, it is really delicious! The chicken is very tender and the rice is also flavorful! Perfect match with coconut!

I originally thought it was just chicken rice, but I didn’t expect the rice to be flavorful as well. I don’t know if it’s the rice steamed with soup, or the rice mixed with the steamed rice, but it’s delicious~ The chicken is super tender and smooth, and I like the meat with skin, which has a richer taste. The taste of the dipping sauce is very similar to the chili sauce that my family pickled when I was a child. I miss it so much, it’s very spicy~!

Find Tras St and walk towards Maxwell Rd. You will see Maxwell food centre at the intersection. The shop is relatively inside and easy to find. It is where there are a lot of people queuing, haha~ I originally thought it was just chicken rice, but I didn’t expect the rice to be tasty too!
