Always a wonderful experience dining at Shisen Hanten. Newly renovated - it's a beautiful restaurant found on the 35th floor of Mandarin Gallery / Hilton Hotel. Score a booth table and get a wonderful view of the city. The must order dish is Chef Kentaro's mapo tofu served in a claypot. Served steaming hot - the tofu is very balanced in it's flavours and best eaten spooned over their beautifully cooked Japanese rice. The mapo tofu comes with a complementary glass of Shisen Hanten's own curated tea served in a champagne flute cold. Poetically named "天府藏茗" or Szechwan Harmony - it is a blend of aged pu'er, roasted oolong and chrysanthemum. I got a whiff of rose as I slipped the tea.My other favourite dish here is the classic Peking roast duck. The dish comes with a basket of pancakes and condiments for you to make little duck skin rolls. You can order a "second course" for the duck meat to be prepared as another dish (sautéed in onions and ginger, black bean sauce or served up in fried rice or ee-fu braised noodles).Well worth a visit if you are in town!
Come to Sichuan Restaurant to eat Sichuan food~~😋 This Sichuan restaurant has two Michelin stars, and the chef is Japanese~~ The current head of the family, Chen Jiantaro, is the third generation. His grandfather, Master Chen Jianmin, left Yibin that year. After developing in Chongqing, Shanghai, Taiwan, Hong Kong and other places, he moved to Yokohama, Japan in 1952, and then moved to Tokyo in 1958. Opened the first Sichuan restaurant Later, the second son Chen Jianyi inherited the mantle, improved the menu, expanded the restaurant, wrote many books on Sichuan cuisine, and became a celebrity on the Japanese cooking competition show Iron Man Cuisine. He was called the Iron Man of Chinese Cuisine for his proud performance. It has also been listed on the list of Japanese contemporary famous craftsmen.
This Sichuan restaurant on Orchard Road is probably the highest-end Sichuan restaurant in Singapore. The Sichuan cuisine they serve is quite good. The Mapo Tofu and Kung Pao Chicken are very distinctive, and the soup has Cantonese flavor.
It turns out that even takeout at MiEr can make a difference Due to the epidemic, all takeout/self-pickup menus are discounted Chinatown Chinese food prices are outstanding taste and this is cost-effective! I can't suppress my excitement! Black Vinegar Sweet and Sour Pork God-like level of sauce absorption, thick but not sticky, good flow and lingering fragrance. Black vinegar is not only very sour, but also has a super nice aroma. Maybe it's the obsession with sweet and sour pork tenderloin. I like this single black vinegar thickening method much more than the method of adding pineapple. A chopstick of sweet and sour pork slides into my mouth. The wrapping is so thin that I can't feel it. It's a solid meatball! Not to mention the tender and juicy, slightly elastic taste of Japanese black pork meat. It's guaranteed to be eaten n times Twice-cooked pork You can tell that the black pork belly is a carefully selected ingredient as soon as you taste it. It's fat and lean, tender and elastic, thin but not greasy. An attractive spicy aroma hits you when you open the lid. I'm hungry. The cabbage and garlic leaves are tender and have a hint of sweetness. Every dish here is delicious! Rice! Steamed siu mai with crab roe Stir-fried seasonal vegetables with truffle and mushrooms (shiitake mushrooms and king oyster mushrooms are smooth and plump, even the broccoli is so fresh) > Chen Mapo Tofu Even if I give it two stars, I think it's worth it‼ ️ The color is bright red, the spiciness is just right, and the numbness is comfortable. It is not overbearing, but it has a soul-stirring charm. The tofu is soft and smooth, the meat is crispy and fragrant, and it is mixed with Hokkaido rice. The more you eat, the more delicious it tastes! (Since Sichuan Restaurant, I can't fall in love with other mapo tofu. I have eaten it countless times and I like it like my first love every time) Because they are both Mandarin Orchard, you can also order the Chatterbox menu together when placing an order. Salted egg chicken wings The salted egg sauce plus curry leaves and chili peppers are really delicious! Anyone who has eaten Irvins' popular potato chips will understand this method. The sauce is very thick. 8 wings for 10 yuan! So happy!
Great service made our lunch extra enjoyable. Mapo tofu was beautifully prepared and went very well with a bowl of hot rice. Loved the crispy skin of the Peking duck and the homemade wrappers.
