Exploring Marrakech’s legendary souqs was an absolute blast 🐍🛍️ — street magic, epic eats, and those maze-like alleys are truly next-level. Here’s my must-see guide for a day packed with culture and color!

Top Spots to Visit:
1. Marrakech-Incantatori di Serpenti (11 Derb Zaari, Marrakech 40000) — Kick things off watching snake charmers hypnotize their audience right in the medina. Don’t be shy to snap pics, but always tip the performers!
2. Kissariat Al Ahbass — Get lost in this bustling bazaar. Haggle like a local for spices, lanterns, jewelry, or those gorgeous leather slippers. My personal tip: go early for a calm browse or late afternoon when things get lively and photogenic!
3. Lunch at l’ancien café (Derb Semmarine, Marrakech 40000) — This spot serves classic Moroccan fare plus dreamy desserts. Try the tagine and mint tea — perfect fuel after souk wanderings.

Marrakech Souq Hacks:
· Bring cash (small bills!) as haggling and cash payments rule here.
· Wear comfy shoes: the alleys are winding and sometimes uneven.
· Stay alert for motorbikes scooting through the tight lanes.
· If bargaining stresses you — smile, start lower, and don’t take it personally if sellers push back!

Getting Around: Walking is best for the souqs, and taxis are cheap for getting elsewhere. Always agree on price upfront.

Food & Weather: Street snacks like msemen (crispy pancakes) are delish! Expect sunny, warm weather, but the souq shade keeps things cool.

Begin your journey in Marrakech and cross the High Atlas via Tizi n’Tichka Pass, pausing for sweeping mountain views. Explore Aït Benhaddou’s historic kasbah before continuing toward Dadès Gorge, where winding roads carve through red stone cliffs. Spend the night surrounded by rugged landscapes. The following day, walk through Todra Gorge beneath its towering canyon walls, then continue east toward the desert. As Merzouga’s dunes rise ahead, begin a camel trek across Erg Chebbi at sunset and conclude your adventure with music, mint tea, and a sky filled with stars.

Leave Marrakech and gradually ascend into mountain stillness along the High Atlas route. Stop at scenic overlooks before wandering Aït Benhaddou’s clay alleys. Continue south toward Dadès Gorge, where jagged rock walls rise dramatically above the valley floor. Spend the evening immersed in canyon tranquility. The next morning, explore Todra Gorge’s immense vertical cliffs before heading east into wide desert expanses. As Merzouga comes into view, dunes stretch across the horizon. Ride camels into Erg Chebbi at sunset and settle into your Sahara camp for an unforgettable night.
