⛩️ Samadhi Temple is located at the foot of Bijia Mountain on Hainan Island, at the south gate of Lingshui County. It is known as one of the top ten Buddhist holy places in Hainan. The incense has flourished for generations, and the Buddha&#39;s day has become more glorious, and the Dharma wheel is always turning.

⛩️&quot;Samadhi&quot; is also called &quot;Samadhi&quot;. The transliteration of the Sanskrit word samadhi means to stop distracting thoughts and focus the mind. Just like the name of the temple, it has stopped the distracting thoughts in the hearts of countless people for hundreds of years and has become a piece of pure land in the coconut forest of Hainan.

⛩️Jianzhen&#39;s six voyages to the east brought a Buddhist fate. The Samadhi Temple records a legendary story that will last forever. From 742 AD (the first year of the Tianbao period of the Tang Dynasty) to 754 AD, at the invitation of Japanese monks Rongrui and Puzhao, the monk Jianzhen tried to cross the sea to Fuso six times. On the fifth voyage, he passed through Lin&#39;an Port in Lingshui County. In 748 AD, Jianzhen, who was 60 years old at the time, set out from Chongfu Temple in Yangzhou with 35 monks, craftsmen and others to start the sixth voyage to the east. Unexpectedly, they encountered a storm just after passing Langshan (via Nantong, Jiangsu) and were forced to take shelter on a small island. They set sail again a month later and encountered huge waves when they reached the Zhoushan Islands. On the third voyage, the fleet drifted south for 14 days under the strong north wind. Until the 16th day, the wind and waves gradually subsided, and finally drifted to a river estuary in Zhenzhou (now Sanya) on Hainan Island. Yuan Kai, a disciple of Jianzhen, recorded in the &quot;Tang Da Heshang Dongzheng Zhuan&quot; that after Jianzhen came ashore, he gave lectures in Dayun Temple for more than a year, enlightening the Buddhist culture of Hainan Island. Lingshui area, not far from Dayun Temple, was even more blessed. The fitness ring passed through Wan&#39;an Prefecture (now Lingshui and Wanning area) and vowed to build Samadhi Temple. It was also from Jianzhen&#39;s unfinished Buddhist fate that the incense of Samadhi Temple flourished a thousand years later, planting a special seed.

⛩️Now when you walk into Samadhi Temple, you can see the old site of Samadhi Temple that has been destroyed by disasters. The small mountain gate has the stone inscription &quot;Millions of people&#39;s blessed land, three thousand worlds of Zen forest&quot; on the door railing. There is a clear ancient well in the courtyard, which is said to be the remains left by Master Jianzhen. After the 1980s, with the joint support of local believers and the government, the temple expanded its current area to about 30 acres. From bottom to top, the Mahavira Hall, the Inner Sutra Pavilion, the Bell Tower, the Ksitigarbha Hall, the Five Contemplation Hall, the Reclining Buddha Hall, the four golden Buddhas on the top of the mountain, the monks&#39; quarters, the dining hall and other emerging buildings are built on the mountain, with winding corridors and ancient trees. The whole layout is majestic, solemn and solemn. The existing buildings are under construction. The gilding of the Buddha statues in the main hall is still in progress. The believers from all directions who come to worship make a vow together, donate merits, and actively add bricks and tiles. The new look of the ancient temple is just around the corner.
