But there’s another little known attraction that is easy to overlook as there’s not even publicity on official channel - the Rose Town (玫瑰小镇). Yuntai Mountain Rose Town (云台山玫瑰小镇) is inside Yuntai Mountain Scenic Area in Xiuwu County, Jiaozuo, Henan. More specifically, it is in the Xiaozhaigou (小寨沟) area of the scenic area. The 2026 Jiaozuo tourism bureau itinerary specifically lists “小寨沟·玫瑰小镇” as the starting point for the canyon route. I almost feel it gets overlooked simply because it isn’t right along the main trekking routes. When you’re busy following the signs to the major scenic spots, it’s quite easy to miss the turn-off if you are at 小寨沟 and carry on without even knowing it’s there. And that’s a pity, because it’s quite a pleasant change from the usual Yuntai scenery. Instead of climbing through narrow gorges, you’ll find a more relaxed setting with flower gardens, roses, landscaped paths and little buildings. You can take a boat tour on the lake, gliding over the green water with steep cliffs on both sides—it's incredibly relaxing. You can also stroll along the lakeside boardwalk, feel the lake breeze, and enjoy the scenic views, which is very soothing. At dusk, the sunset casts golden light on the lake, sparkling beautifully. ⛰️ Zhuyu Peak: Climb Taihang’s highest peak and see all other mountains below I missed climbing Zhuyu Peak on my first visit due to time constraints, but this time I made up for it. Zhuyu Peak is the highest peak of Yuntai Mountain, standing at 1,308 meters, requiring climbing over 1,600 steps. Though tiring, the moment you reach the top, it’s all worth it. Along the way, you pass the famous Diecai Cave, a road carved into the cliff with 19 consecutive tunnels—truly spectacular. Sitting in the sightseeing vehicle, looking out at the cliffs, you really admire human wisdom and courage. From the summit of Zhuyu Peak, you overlook the entire Yuntai Mountain range, with endless mountains and rolling seas of clouds.
