If you’re looking for a destination that feels relaxing instead of rushed, Perth might surprise you. ☀️ Six days gave me the perfect balance of turquoise beaches, adorable quokkas, pink lakes, desert sunsets, and some of the best coffee I’ve had in Australia. It’s the kind of city where nobody seems to be in a hurry—and that’s exactly the charm. My 6D5N itinerary ✨ Day 1 – Perth City Stroll around Elizabeth Quay, grab a flat white, snap the iconic Blue Boat House, wander through Fremantle Market, then end the day with a sunset picnic at Kings Park. Day 2 – Rottnest Island Take the morning ferry, rent a bike, meet the famous quokkas, swim at Pinky Beach, and watch the ocean turn golden before heading back. Day 3 – The Desert Road Trip Stop by Lancelin Sand Dunes for sandboarding, enjoy fresh lobster at Lobster Shack, and catch an unforgettable sunset among the Pinnacles. Day 4 – Pink Lake Adventure Drive north to Hutt Lagoon, one of Australia’s dreamiest pink lakes, then slow down in the peaceful seaside town of Geraldton. Day 5 – Nature & Wildlife Visit Caversham Wildlife Park to meet kangaroos and koalas, explore more of Kings Park, and enjoy a long dinner by the Swan River. Day 6 – Goodbye Perth A relaxed breakfast, a final walk along Cottesloe Beach, last-minute shopping at Watertown, and one more flat white before flying home. 💙 Places you shouldn’t miss 📍 · Rottnest Island 🦘 · Kings Park 🌿 · Elizabeth Quay 🌊 · Blue Boat House 📸 · Fremantle Market 🎨 · Cottesloe Beach 🏖️ · Pinnacles Desert 🏜️ · Hutt Lagoon 💗 · Lancelin Sand Dunes · Geraldton Coastal Drive Eat these! 🍴 · Fish & Chips by the beach · Fresh WA Lobster · Flat White coffee · Aussie Brunch · Fremantle seafood · Local gelato after sunset Perth isn’t loud or flashy—it quietly becomes one of those places you’ll want to return to. We first noticed the Motor Museum when we visited Caversham Wildlife Park at Whiteman Park, but it was already too late to go in. Since our son was really into cars, we decided to return another day. The museum has a surprisingly large collection, from classic cars and racing cars to buses and other vehicles. Our son enjoyed walking from one car to another, and there was also a car he could sit in. We arrived around 10:50am and spent about an hour inside. For us, it was worth coming back. Our son enjoyed the visit, and we also liked seeing the different cars along the way. If you’re visiting Caversham Wildlife Park with a child who likes cars, I would check the Motor Museum opening hours before going. Since both are at Whiteman Park, they can easily be planned on the same day if the timing works. 📍 Motor Museum of Western Australia, Whiteman Park #perth #whitemanpark #motormuseum #perthwithkids #westernaustralia #familytravel

If you're visiting Perth and only have half a day to spare, Perth Zoo is one of those places that's absolutely worth adding to your itinerary. I originally thought it would just be another zoo, but I was genuinely surprised by how peaceful, spacious and well-designed it is. Unlike many zoos I've visited, the animals here live in beautifully landscaped habitats that feel close to nature rather than enclosed exhibits. The highlight, of course, was finally seeing Australia's iconic wildlife in person. Watching a sleepy koala resting high in the eucalyptus trees was exactly the Australian moment I had imagined. The kangaroos were even better—they were incredibly relaxed, hopping around their large open enclosure while visitors quietly admired them from nearby walkways. One unexpected favourite was the wombat. They're much bigger than I expected and somehow even cuter in real life. I also loved seeing the colourful birds, playful meerkats, giraffes, lions and tigers, making this zoo much more diverse than I anticipated. What impressed me most wasn't just the animals—it was the atmosphere. The entire zoo is filled with lush gardens, shady trees and winding walking paths, making it enjoyable even on warm days. It never felt overcrowded, and there were plenty of benches and picnic areas where families were relaxing under the trees. It felt more like strolling through a botanical garden than rushing between animal exhibits. Tips for visiting Perth Zoo ✔️ Arrive early when many animals are more active. ✔️ Allow around 3–4 hours to comfortably explore the whole zoo. ✔️ Bring a reusable water bottle and wear comfortable walking shoes. ✔️ Don't miss the Australian Bushwalk section if you want to see native wildlife. ✔️ Check the keeper talks before entering—they're informative and completely free. Is Perth Zoo worth visiting? Definitely yes. Whether you're travelling as a couple, with friends or bringing kids, Perth Zoo offers a relaxing break from the city while giving you the chance to experience Australia's unique wildlife up close. It's not the biggest zoo in Australia, but it's beautifully maintained, easy to navigate and perfect for a leisurely half-day adventure. Sometimes the simplest attractions end up becoming some of the most memorable moments of a trip—and Perth Zoo was exactly that for me. 📍 Location: South Perth (about 10 minutes from Perth CBD) ⏰ Recommended visit: Morning or late afternoon ⭐ Suggested duration: 3–4 hours #PerthZoo #Perth #WesternAustralia #Australia #PerthTravel #Koala #Kangaroo #Wildlife #Zoo #SouthPerth #TravelAustralia #Natur

🐨 If you're visiting Perth, skip the zoo and head to **Caversham Wildlife Park** instead. Located inside Whiteman Park, this is one of the best places in Western Australia to get up close with native Australian animals. From hand-feeding kangaroos to meeting koalas, wombats, quokkas and even farm animals, it's an experience that both adults and kids will love. 📍 **Why I recommend Caversham Wildlife Park** ✅ Feed friendly kangaroos The kangaroos roam freely in large open areas, and you can hand-feed them with food purchased at the entrance. They are gentle, relaxed and perfect for photos. 🐨 Meet koalas up close Although holding koalas is not allowed in Western Australia, you can get surprisingly close for photos while learning more about them from the keepers. 🦘 See iconic Australian wildlife Besides kangaroos and koalas, you'll also find wombats, dingoes, emus, reptiles, birds and even adorable quokkas. 🐑 Farm Show One of the highlights! Watch sheep shearing demonstrations, working dogs rounding up sheep, cow milking and other authentic Australian farm experiences. 📸 Best Photo Spots · Kangaroo feeding area · Koala enclosure · Farm Show · Whiteman Park surroundings 💰 Entrance Fee Worth every dollar if you're looking for an authentic Australian wildlife experience. ⏰ Recommended Visit Time 3–4 hours 🚗 Getting There Around 30 minutes by car from Perth CBD. There is plenty of free parking available. 💡 Travel Tips · Visit in the morning when the animals are more active. · Wear comfortable shoes as you'll be walking quite a bit. · Bring a hat and sunscreen, especially during summer. · Purchase kangaroo food at the entrance before entering the enclosure. · Arrive early for the Farm Show schedule. ⭐ Overall Rating: ★★★★★ This was easily one of my favourite experiences in Perth. Instead of simply seeing animals behind glass, you get to interact with them in a spacious natural environment. If you're travelling with family, friends or even solo, Caversham Wildlife Park is absolutely worth adding to your Perth itinerary. Visiting Caversham Wildlife Park in Perth was one of the most memorable experiences of my trip to Australia. The park gives you the chance to get really close to Australia’s iconic animals in a relaxed and natural environment. One of the highlights was taking a selfie with a koala. Seeing the koala up close was such a special moment — they are even cuter in real life! The koala was calm and fluffy, and it felt amazing to stand beside such a unique Australian animal. Another unforgettable activity was feeding the kangaroos. They were roaming freely in the open area, and visitors could hand-feed them with special food provided by the park. The kangaroos were gentle and friendly, happily hopping over when they saw food in our hands. It was so fun interacting with them and taking photos while they ate. The park also has many other animals like wombats, farm animals, and colorful birds. It’s a great place for families and animal lovers because the experience feels very interactive and personal. Overall, visiting Caversham Wildlife Park was a wonderful way to experience Australia’s wildlife up close. From taking a selfie with a koala to feeding kangaroos, every moment was fun, unique, and definitely worth remembering. Highly recommend this place to friend and family #travel #wildlifes #kangaroos

Took these photos at Caversham wildlife park. It’s one of the must-visit places in Perth where you get to snuggle up close with the wildlife animals of Australia. The park is a little crowded when we were there but there were ample places to park your vehicle. Entrance fee was reasonable as the park was huge I’d say it’s as big as a typical zoo except you get an interactive experience with the animals and can even take photos with a Koala. Highly recommended.#travel

#summervacay Caversham Wildlife Park Not far from downtown Perth, and definitely worth a visit! This zoo offers great interactivity and participation — perfect for kids who love animals, they’ll be thrilled! We went on a Saturday and there were lots of locals, so we had to queue quite a while at the entrance. · You’ll get a green map at the entrance. · Pay attention to the schedule on it — there are fixed times for:  · Meet the Koala  · Meet the Wombat  · Penguin Feeding  · Farm Show Make sure to go early and line up in advance to get a front-row spot — if you're late, you won’t see much. The queue to take a photo with the koala was super long (guess how I found out... 😅). Besides those events, you can also get up close to kangaroos, and there’s a beautiful pasture area deeper in the park. #travel #australia #perth

I visited a wildlife park located about 30 minutes by car from the center of Perth, Australia! It's highly recommended because you can meet Australia's popular animals that are hard to encounter in the city all at once! First, we experienced feeding kangaroos🦘. You can see them freely roaming around the spacious grounds, living as if they were in the wild! It's super cute to see them hopping towards you when you place food in your palm❤️. The ones with white fur are said to be albino!? Next, you can take photos next to a wombat being held by a zookeeper! It's okay to touch their feet👌🏽. For koalas, it's okay to gently stroke their backs with the back of your hand👌🏽. There are photo lists of the koalas and wombats on the wall, so it's fun to find out which one you interacted with! Just like humans, each one has a different face, so you can also look for your favorite!

One of Perth’s popular tourist attraction - Caversham Wildlife Park showcase lots of Australia’s native animals including Koalas, Wallabies, Tasmanian Devils and Wombats. There are lots of animals shows throughout the day that kids and adults will love! Photo taking opportunities are also available for selected animals! They are open everyday except on Christmas Day. It’s a short 30 minutes drive from Perth City. #tripblazers #perth #australia #darwintravel #wildlifepark #urbanexplorer

We loved how easy it is to find a nice playground in perth and pur favourite has got to be Pia's Place. Pia's Place is located at Whiteman Park and it is designed to include kids of all abilities to play in a safe natured based inclusive space. The playground is super fun, not just for the young but also for the adults. It is a great place for the children to explore, laugh and learn, and where everyone can just play together. There is so much to play there. For example, there are swings, long slides, a flying fox, a merry go round and a massive lighthouse for kids to play. There are toilets right outside the playground so you don't have to worry when nature calls. #celebratewithtrip #tripblazers #mytripvlog #urbanexplorer #awesomepic #passionpassport #perth
