A most luxurious castle in the Netherlands

I learnt the importance of the NS app, when I boarded a train headed towards vleuten, but the train didn't stop at Vleuten. So yes keep that in mind, not all trains do. Mine was a day try trip from Utrecht. A quick train ride to Vleuten and then a bus ride to the nearest stop of the castle. Walked 15 more minutes and there was the castle. One could also do this from from Amsterdam but may be the train ride would be 50-60 minutes.
Any who, if the idea of the largest castle in the country and with a Disney like architecture appeals to you. You cannot miss the De Haar castle. It has a massive park surrounding it.
You might want to not rush or have too many plans for the same day. I mean I took my time and easily spent close to 4 hours here. But even otherwise I would say 2 plus hours easily for the castle and garden alone. It's got several rooms and there will be information to take in. I paid two entry fees. One for the garden and one for castle. But I do remember it being under 30 euros altogether. This is a must add on your itinerary.

Most Beautiful Castle in The Netherlands
#100WaysOfTravel #couple
Getting There - pretty easy and convenient. took a train to Vleuten and then a bus 127 to the castle. Coming back will be similar
We went there on a Monday, hence there wasn’t much crowd and we can take loads of picture! The place was huge! The audio castle tour itself might take a couple of hours to indulge in the history of the place. Thereafter, we went to find the deer park which had an awesome view!
Highly recommended place if you are in the castles and stuff!
Utrecht with ease and comfort
#utrecht #netherlands #amsterdam
📍Location: As a small town/city close to Amsterdam, you may take a train from central Amsterdam to Utrecht, costing you just around 3 euro(single trip) and half an hour. Trains are scheduled around every 15 minutes.
🏙️ About the city: the city is quite small though, it might only take you a day/or less than a day to all the tourist places. Right at the Utrecht central station, there is a big shopping mall, where you can buy food and walking around. The statues and Utrecht university are also around the centrum station, and you might just get there on foot.
🕙time: one of the weird thing is that I arrived the city on Monday around 10, I walk around until midday, and surprisingly, there is only a few people on the street, so are those opening stores. So quite and not as crowded as I have thought.
The largest and most beautiful castle in the Netherlands, the Neo-Gothic De Haar Castle.
Kasteel De Haar is located in the small town of Haarzuilens near Utrecht in the Netherlands. The medieval-style castle, also known as the "Red Town", is a typical neo-Gothic building with a hint of classical solemnity. There are many antiques and precious artworks inside the castle, and the passages are complex, so visitors must follow the guided tour to enter. It has a palace-style garden and moat, making it an ideal place for wedding photos and popular among many young Dutch men and women. ❤️❤️❤️

Utrecht - The Netherlands
We were not very sure if it was going to be worth to stop as we show different cities but we gave it a chance. It is definetely a must. It is a bit small, so you can spend like a day, exploring Utrecht but it has its highlights. Its canals are beautiful. If you go in spring you can enjoy a drink by the canal. Do NOT forget mosquito spray, as you will be their favourite meal. In winter it is very humid so I recommend you to visit it in Spring or Summer. Summer won’t be all the students so you can enjoy a relax time and if you are lucky a live band outside.
🇳🇱🏰 Castle de Haar - Dutch Girls' dream castle? 😍
🏰 Being the largest castle in the Netherlands, Castle de Haar is definitely a place that you can't miss if you are nearby 😍 #bucketlistreboot
🏞️ With a 14-hectare park surrounding the castle, the place is just a gem to explore, especially when it is sunny 🌞. Everyone can take instagram-mable pictures here, and again, the nature is just so beautiful! 😋
💒 The castle is a summer house for rich people, which is then acquired by the royal Dutch family. Inside of it is so grand, and full of luxurious bedrooms that any girls like me would love to live in 🍇🍇🍇🥲 And so much more is here for you to explore... quick! Book your ticket and come 😍
🚌 From Utrecht Centraal station, take a sprinter to Vleuten station, then ride on bus 127, which takes you straight to the gate of the Castle!
🕣 Mind you, the bus 127 is an hourly service, so be on time... 😏😏
* Check app "9292" for transport information in the Netherlands.

Utrecht town
Utrecht is really pretty and offers a good combination of new and old, very much like a modernised town! You will find that you are spoilt for choices in the shopping district and when it comes to food, there are even more choices from Korean to Vietnamese and even Italian cuisine.
The streets in town are very picturesque and I really like looking at the canals and architecture as I roam the streets. As it is fast approaching December, you will find that the Christmas decors are out and they will light up at night✨ which makes for a really pretty sight!
There are also many who likes to dine by the canals and enjoy the nice weather and chill vibes:)
Delicious & Chill Brunch Spot
Visited 30ml Coffee & Food in Utrecht and had their bacon pancakes, vegetarian burrito, and 2 drinks. The food was really good and the cafe was quite peaceful and vibey despite being a Saturday afternoon.
Definitely recommend if you are in the area!

Utrecht a city in the central Neatherlands that has been a religious center for many hundreds of years. It is famous for the Cathedral of St. Martin and the Domtoren Bell tower which can be seen from most parts of the city. It is such a great place to explore while walking. #merrychristmas
Utrecht is a beautiful city in the Neatherlands. Most people have not heard of it but it is the 4th largest city in the Neatherlands and has been a religious center for hundreds of years. It is also very picturesque. Photo ops galore. #merrychristmas
Utrecht is a small yet very beautiful city in the Netherlands. It is reachable by train and other type of transportation for only 30 minutes from Amsterdam. Utrecht has many canals, and it is famous also for the restaurants along the canals which can be a little bit pricey. Overall, it is a very relaxing city for you to hang around, as this city also has a university, so most people here are students #HalloTrip
Utrecht, The Netherlands 🇳🇱
Utrecht, located in the heart of the Netherlands, is a vibrant city that seamlessly blends rich history with modern urban living. Known for its charming canals, medieval architecture, and lively atmosphere, Utrecht offers a unique glimpse into Dutch culture and heritage. The city’s most iconic feature is the Dom Tower, a towering Gothic structure that stands as the tallest church tower in the country, offering sweeping views of the city from the top. The Domplein Square around it is a hub of activity, with street performers, cafes, and historical buildings adding to its charm.
Utrecht’s picturesque canals, lined with centuries-old buildings, are distinctive for their unique wharves and cellars, now home to cafes and shops. The canal-side terraces offer a perfect spot to relax and watch the world go by. Utrecht is also known for its lively cultural scene, with numerous museums, theaters, and galleries. The Centraal Museum and Rietveld Schröder House are highlights for art and architecture lovers.
With its blend of history, culture, and youthful energy (thanks to its large student population), Utrecht offers a vibrant lifestyle. The city is also bike-friendly, making it easy to explore its many charming neighborhoods, parks, and green spaces, all contributing to the dynamic character of Utrecht.

Kasteel de Haar: A Fairytale Castle
#myhiddengems
Kasteel de Haar is a spectacular medieval castle located near Utrecht, offering a majestic escape into Dutch history and opulence. This hidden gem is the largest castle in the Netherlands and feels like it’s straight out of a fairytale. Surrounded by manicured gardens, moats, and ancient trees, its grandeur is mesmerizing. Inside, you’ll be greeted by lavishly decorated rooms, historic tapestries, and grand staircases. Each visit to Kasteel de Haar is an enchanting journey, whether you’re wandering through its gardens or admiring its stately architecture. It’s a dreamlike place that will captivate both history enthusiasts and romantics.
How to plan a one-day trip to the Netherlands
Depart from Amsterdam Station and go to Windmill Village Railway Station (Zaandijk Zaanse Schans) early in the morning. The train takes about 17 minutes, and upon arrival you need to walk a short distance to see the real windmill. The windmill scene here is just like the picture in the geography textbook. There are not many restaurant options nearby. After shopping, you can take a train to your next destination.
Next, go to Zaandam Railway Station (Zaandam), which takes about 6 minutes. There are many restaurants and shops here. It should be noted that some stores in this area do not accept Visa and Mastercard credit cards, so please prepare cash in advance.
Finally, head to Miffy’s hometown (Utrecht Centraal), which takes about 40 minutes by car. There are a lot of Miffy-related decorations here, such as traffic lights and other details that need to be looked for carefully. The iron Miffy logo was not very obvious, but I realized it was right in front of me when I sat down to eat a burger.
The above itinerary is recommended to start at 10 o'clock in the morning and end at about 18 o'clock, so that you can return to Amsterdam for dinner.

A laidback dutch experience
#citydaytours
While i don't deny that when in Netherland, no harm in visiting Amsterdam. But if you are a repeater and dislike the loudness and tourist traps that come with main cities. I think Utrecht is for you. A far more laidback back Dutch city with great expericnes to offer.
We paid about 60 Euros a night and our hotel was 3 star inclusive of breakfast. No complaints and fair proces charged. Since this was a weekend stay, the place seemed lively. In terms of things to do, on the corner of Lange Viestra and Oude Gracht Weerdzijde was the canal cruise. Leaving every 30mins in late May. The tour was live and because they had some english people on board they gave the talk in english too.
Saturday is the food market located Vredenburg area. I sampled so many different dutch cheeses. The old town is full of ovely streets of cafes and independent shops. Frequented by the locals who were lapping up the sunshine. From quirky fashion, wooden toys, excellent kitchen wear or a new bicycle bell it's all here. Or drop down to the canal side for excellent food. There is a flower market too, actually a fabric market and host of side gigs to explore.

Lovely park
Beautiful park with full of birds including free wondering chickens 🐓!
I love the park especially in the spring/summer, so many flowers and greens that make your eyes happy. The good place to picnic too.
Utrecht's Charming Canals and Miffy Traffic Lights
Found the adorable Miffy traffic lights. This is also a small city with many canals, but it features canals with cellars, where the canal level is one floor lower than the road. The house exits into a cellar, and almost all the paths have turned into little restaurants, while others open directly onto the water. A different kind of beauty from Amsterdam. Brick houses, doors with rich colors, and beautiful flowers.
Wandering aimlessly along the old streets, without a plan, I come across churches, towers under renovation with no entrance to be found, and extending shops. Even in this hazy wandering, I still lack an overall concept of the place. The church is free to enter, and its courtyard is beautiful.
Beautiful streets of Utrecht #historicallandmarks #netherlands
Visit the Largest & Luxurious Castle in NL
#springblossom #vianasjourney
Discover the largest and luxurious castle in The Netherland by visiting this De Haar Castle. It has an interesting history from the first owner of the house until in the 2000, the current owner van Zuylen van Nyevelt family passed ownership to the Foundation Castle De Haar. In the castle you can see how luxurious the lifestyle of the owner where they have many items (for example cutlery) especially made and used only by the family. Do check out their family history for more informations. Here’s my extra infos and tips, the castle has it locker before exploring further, so if you have big bags, wise to put it there. Staff didn’t allowed big bags, and even if you bring sling bag, the staff insisted I some how wrap it around my stomach. It has small and steep stairs, so careful. Even if you wanna look pretty wearing heels for pictures, do bring extra pair of comfortable footwear. Take note that no flash photography allowed.
Enjoy the Beauty of Spring at Maxima Park
#springblossom #vianasjourney #awesomepic
Maxima Park is a very big area, covered by water and big field with gardens in the area, makes it more pleasing to walk around to. I especially loved the Japanese theme garden, where they also have this cheese table and other plenty of bench around. I noticed there’s plenty of cherry blossom trees are around as well, makes me wonder if I should come here for cherry blossom season for next year. The park also have a pretty large restaurants for drinks and meal, do check it out, it’s on the 6th slide.

4. Climb the Dom Tower ( 13€)
