2026 Grange-over-Sands Travel Guide: must-see attractions, popular food, hotels, transport & travel experiences (updated in September)

Guided walk across Morecambe bay. We took the train to Arnside in south Cumbria, and joined two charity groups of walkers…about 600 in total. Our guide Michael Williams escorted us southwards along the coast to the point where we were to set of cross the river Kent as it flows out into the tidal waters of Morecambe Bay, being very wary of the sinking mud/quick sand that the area is infamous for. 7 miles later we reached the beautiful town of Grange over Sands, with enough time for up to have a quick pint before jumping on the train back home. The Lake District of course is famous for its lakes and mountains but that doesn’t mean its coastline isn’t equally as beautiful . The town of Grange over sands on the Furness peninsula is one of the best spots along the Cumbrian coast, where you can walk along its promenade with beautiful views of the surrounding mountains across the bay or take a walk around the lake in the ornate gardens. Finally you can explore it’s picturesque town centre. #getgoing2025 #lakedistrict
