Tyup travel guide and discussion

#summerbeachnights I reached Jyrgalan by a 40-minute shared taxi from Karakol (split cost ~375 KGS, about 4 USD, cash only—no card reader in the village). The Kok Bel trail starts behind the CBT guesthouse: a 14 km out-and-back through spruce fringe, then open jailoo (summer pasture) where the tundra meadow opens up at 2,900 m. July evenings here are the real #summerbeachnights of the mountains—no sea, but the grass glows silver under a 9 pm sunset and the Kok Bel stream sounds like surf. CBT Jyrgalan runs a yurt at the meadow edge (1,200–1,500 KGS with dinner, ~14–17 USD). I paid in som, withdrew 5,000 KGS in Karakol before leaving—Jyrgalan has no ATM. Park entry is free, but the valley sits near no border zone so no permit needed. Mistake: I wore trail runners after rain; the clay section below Kok Bel spring sucked them off twice. Take poles. Kindness moment: a herder kid on a pony rode up, handed me a bowl of kymyz (fermented mare milk), and said "jailoo belongs to whoever walks slow." That is the whole etiquette—don’t shortcut through the yak calves, close the wire gate behind you. Would community-run valleys like Jyrgalan stay authentic if they built a paved car park at the trailhead, or does the 40-minute dirt-road jolt protect the meadow?

My friend and I spent a week ski touring with Max in Jyrgalan (Kyrgyzstan). Max proved to be an outstanding guide and organized an amazing trip for us. His extensive knowledge of the region was remarkable, and he led us to some of the most incredible backcountry skiing we’ve ever experienced. He was a fantastic addition to our adventure and, surprisingly, quite skilled at Monopoly Deal for a first-timer! Thanks, Max.

Lose Yourself in Kyrgyzstan’s Wild Heart – Jyrgalan Trekking 🏔️🔥 Ready for mountain magic? The Jyrgalan Valley delivers one of the most spectacular day hikes in Central Asia. Start your trek from a cozy guest house and stroll through scenes straight out of a nomad fairytale: flocks of sheep, untamed horses, and sweeping pastures (jailoo) all set beneath ever-changing skies. The steady climb rewards you with jaw-dropping panoramas—layer upon endless layer of snowcapped Tien Shan peaks, with the tiny patchwork of Jyrgalan village far below. Must-Do: Follow the classic loop up into the Chaar Jon mountains. Pause often—every bend in the trail frames a new, “pinch yourself I’m here” vista! Don’t miss cresting the highest pass; that’s your unbeatable, heart-thumping photo spot with the world unfolding in every direction. Photo Spots: · At sunrise or mid-morning, get that perfect ridge shot with the village and endless peaks in the background. · Herds of horses grazing on the hill—Instagram gold! · Reverse your camera at the top for a windswept selfie with the mighty Tien Shan behind you. Tips & Precautions: Start early—mornings are clearest and coolest. Bring plenty of water, snacks, and layers—a weather-proof jacket is a must (weather up here can change in minutes!). There’s a good chance you’ll have the trail all to yourself, but let someone know your route for safety. Footing can be tricky; sturdy hiking boots are essential. Personal tip? Let yourself just stand at the pass and breathe. If you need to feel small—in the best, awe-inspiring way—these wild mountains will deliver. #Jyrgalan #Trekking #HiddenGem #TienShan #MountainLife

#falladventures #travel #familytravel Beautiful place. The Pamir mountains are so colorful, purple rocks, marmots (or other species similar to them). It is easy to go for treks from the lake to the viewpoint which is in front of Peak Lenin. Path is visible and easy. You don't need a guide. We had the “maps.me” application, in which the path is shown and accurate. We start in the morning and at about 5 pm we had transfer back to the village. Ask in the Peak Lenin Guesthouse for a transfer to the lake. The price is a lot cheaper than in CBT. Plus I don’t recommend CBT (see me review). For accommodation in the village, we recommend Sunny Side Guesthouse. We paid 2 prices less than in CBT, and we had our own room. Accommodation is basic, bed sheets not so fresh, but the family is really helpful. They put the fire on for us, so it was warm and cosy. The shower is in another small building, but they also put the fire also there, so it was really nice. It is near the main road between two gas stations. It is visible from the main road. In the application “maps.me,” it is marked as Lenin Peak Guest house. Like the pictures if you enjoy them! Follow me, Travelogist, for more updates like these.

#falladventures #travel #familytravel I was twice in the Jyrgalan valley. First, I was in summer for kymyz treatment (kymyz is a drink of mare's milk). I was wandering through beautiful nature. It's surrounded by mountains, green and tallest trees, huge river. I did treks to Kok-Bel waterfall, which is a nice and picturesque place to see. Huge stone "Tulpar tash", which was named after one of the historic horses' names. There are all kinds of flowers. A lot of edelweiss flowers. Lake, which is called "Turnaluu kol", where you can see real cranes. In wintertime, all places are covered by deep white snow. Freeride skiing, horse trekkings, fresh air, clean water, healthy food, warm guest houses with friendly hosts.Mountainous Jyrgalan is located 60 km east of Karakol, Ysyk Kol Province, Kyrgyzstan. Summer tourism: kymyz treatment, treks, horseback riding, traditional horse games, crafts, cooking classes. Winter tourism: freeride ski, snowshoe experience. It is a beautiful place with nice people, food, and good accommodation for staying. If you want to recover and stay close to nature in a cozy and friendly atmosphere, it is the right place to go. It is also an ice place to organize team building activities, training, and festivals. The local community is very friendly and supportive. If you enjoy the pictures, please like them! My friends and I took a trip to the mountains from Karakol City. Our driver picked us up around 10:30 in the morning, and we drove for about two hours straight into the valley. Along the way we made several stops to enjoy the views, and at one point we climbed up a huge rock to take photos from the top. As the road led us higher into the mountains it became both exciting and a little scary because we were driving right along the edge of cliffs. Even though it was early September and very hot in the city, up in the mountains the weather was freezing. We even saw snowflakes in the air, though they melted before reaching the ground. The wind was strong and icy, a big contrast from the warm valley below. On the way we also passed an old, broken brick house that looked very historic and added to the atmosphere. Driving back down was a little easier and faster since we made fewer stops. The road itself was not in good condition with many bumps and stones, so the ride was tiring rather than relaxing. Still, the scenery was breathtaking, with mountains that truly felt higher than the sky. Despite the rough road, I completely recommend this trip for anyone visiting Karakol. The natural beauty is absolutely worth it.

#AprilTravelSupport If you travel to Kyrgyzstan, Must stay one night at 💛 You can spend one night in a traditional mobile round tent called a yurt ㅎㅎ If you wanted to stay in a yurt but were worried that it would be uncomfortable, try this place 👍🏻 It looks like a yurt on the outside, but the inside is similar to a hotel There is a bathroom inside, and there is a bed and a stove, so I spent my time comfortably and in a cozy atmosphere without any inconvenience!! It was such a unique and great experience 💚 📍Unnamed Road, Karkara, Kyrgyzstan #Kyrgyzstan #KyrgyzstanTravel #Yurta

#MarchGoodPlaces2025 Walking west from #Karakol in #Kyrgyzstan for two hours along the mountain road, you will reach a small mountain town called Jyrgalan. We asked at the bus station in Karakol if there was a bus to this place. Even the bus drivers forgot about this place. They said they didn't know there was such a place and there were no buses going there. It took me more than an hour to find a driver and find out how to get there. You can hire his car, it's not expensive, about HK$200. This mountain town is being developed into a new ski resort. So a five-star resort is being built on the top of the mountain. Summer is a green hillside. You can hike, ride horses, and have a picnic on the grass. Although it is not a tourist hotspot yet, it is still worth a visit! #karakol #kyrgyzstan #CentralAsia #FiveCentralAsianCountries #Gyrgalan #FreeTravel
