#adventuretrips Stepping out onto the horseshoe-shaped glass platform of the Biokovo Skywalk, suspended 1,228 meters above the glittering Adriatic Sea, was an absolute test of nerve. Looking straight down through the transparent glass beneath my boots revealed a sheer, dizzying drop down the jagged white limestone cliffs of the mountain face. The wind whipped fiercely around the ridge, and as I gazed out toward the islands of Hvar and Brač stretching across the horizon, the terrifying rush of adrenaline was completely unmatched by any standard viewpoint.

No separate trail fee — covered by park entry. I took a Makarska–Biokovo shuttle (€15 return, cash), started 8 a.m. in May. Day 28°C coast, 12°C at Vošac, moss silver at dawn. Wore trail-runners; the botanical trail is cut stone then karst, slippery after rain. Mistake: I drove the park road in a rental at 1 p.m. in August — 10 km of 1-lane switchbacks, met the shuttle bus, reversed 150 m to a turnout, 25 min lost, €18 entry paid anyway. Shuttle or taxi. Second mistake: I stepped on the Skywalk glass "for the photo" at noon — glare white-out, Adriatic invisible, moss irrelevant up there; dawn is the only honest hour. Third: I picked an edelweiss (Leontopodium) on the karst — ranger: "protected alpine, 150 € fine, that's a 10-yr bloom". Buy in Makarska: a 5 € sardine plate, not the 30 € Riviera. Gear: 1.5 L water, 50 € shell, 25 € fleece — Biokovo drops to 7°C. Local rule: €10 car + €8 pp (or €15 shuttle covers entry), no drones, stay on Vošac botanical trail, Skywalk is a 5-min photo not a hike. The moss in the sinkhole seep is the karst's secret — step on cut stone. Opinion: Biokovo sells the glass Skywalk; the mossy botanical trail down from Vošac is the 60-min half with zero Instagram queue. Should the park plank 300 m of the seep and fold it into the €8 ticket explainer, or keep it self-guided? I'd plank it. Would you shuttle 10 km up a karst massif for a mossy sinkhole trail above the Adriatic?

We took airport shuttle to main bus station which cost 15 euro return. Leave my luggages at the locker near the bus station which cost 5 euro. Then, walk to Split old town. I recommend to climb The Bell Tower of the cathedral of St Domnius. Then we booked Uber to Tucepi which cost 65 euro. Day 2 :We took shuttle near hotel to Makarska which cost 2.5 euro each way. Explore Makarska beaches and hill. Day 3 : We booked day trip Sibenik and Krka National park from Getyourguide which cost about 39 euro/ person. Pick up from Bluesun Alga hotel. I really enjoyed the trip. Day 4: Trip to Brac Island. We bought the Jadrolina ferry ticket from Makarska or online. We rent a scooter there to explore the island which we got 50cc scooter. Day 5: Biokovo skywalk. We reserved Uber which cost about 62 euro return plus waiting 1 hr and taking us back to hotel to get luggage then to Makarska Flix bus station. Then we took Flixbus From Makarska to Split. From Split we took airport shuttle to Airport. We really enjoyed our trip. Everywhere so beautiful. 💡 Tips
