A super convenient hotel right in front of Tsu Station! I was so happy about the free buffet-style breakfast (^^). They also have a welcome drink bar. The rooms are nice and clean. There is no large public bath. Washers and dryers are available. Parking is available. *Paid and on a first-come, first-served basis. The front desk staff were very friendly (^^). I highly recommend it to those traveling without a car since the location is fantastic (^^). First off, I stayed here by myself! The rate was 5,000 yen for a weekday and 6,300 yen for a Saturday. *Prices may vary depending on the booking site and dates. [Room] This twin room is huge! So spacious! Having this massive room all to myself was incredibly satisfying! There are plenty of power outlets, so I had no issues charging my devices. The room comes with a sofa, table, fridge, and a large closet space for hanging clothes! [Light Breakfast] I loved the complimentary light breakfast! Plus, it was delicious! I stayed for 3 nights, and the menu changed every single day (^^) *See photos. The breakfast area turns into an Izakaya (Japanese pub) at night! I didn't go myself, but it was always bustling with people. [Public Bath] It’s not very big, but I was still really happy to use it! Forever 3 o'clock at Oyatsu Town An interactive theme park featuring an indoor zipline and Baby Star snacks The clocks inside the town are unique, with all positions (6, 9, 12) marked as 3, making it perpetually 3 o'clock. There are some factory tour-like elements presented through videos. This facility is especially enjoyable for young children and elementary school-aged kids. The experience of making Baby Star snacks is simple enough for small children to participate. The food offerings are filled with Baby Star snacks, which was amusing. The pathways were lined with sakura trees, and I couldn’t stop taking pictures of the dreamy scenery. The calm pond in the center of the park reflected the blossoms perfectly, adding to the magical vibe. Tsu City, Mie Prefecture is a hotbed of eel!! There are many eel restaurants, but this time I went to "Hashiya". I ordered the top-grade eel bowl with less rice. The skin was crispy and the meat was fluffy and delicious!! I went to Kitabatake Shrine in Tsu City, Mie Prefecture (((((((っ･ω･)っ The ancestor of the Ise Kokushi, who flourished as the Taki Palace in Okuichishi, is enshrined here. This is a Buddhist temple in Daimon, Tsu-shi, Mie Prefecture, Japan. On the 18th of every month, a Kannon festival is conducted in the town. On February 3rd they also have a Setsubun Festival (spring festival during which evil spirits are warded -off). It attracts a lot of tourists.

One of the “Three Great Fireworks Festivals in Japan”. Consecutive fireworks launched from ships are one of the great attractions of this fireworks festival. Enjoying the fireworks while sitting on the beach sand and feeling the smell of the tide is one of the great summer traditions of Tsu city, Mie prefecture, it is beloved by local residents and people from neighboring cities.

On my way to my parents' house, I passed through Tsu City, so I decided to try "Takatora Dog," a place I'd been told about before. Takatora Dog I wondered what "Takatora" meant, and it turns out it's the name of a samurai who contributed to the construction of Iga Ueno Castle in Nabari City. Hearing this name two days in a row... it must be a local favorite. Order Counter This is a popular shop with long lines, and there were several people waiting even on this day. It's a sister store to "Kurama Sand" in Suzuka City, which I visited previously, and it also boasts 50 different variations. They're broadly divided into three categories: vegetable-based, savory, and sweet, and there are seasonal and limited-time offerings, so you could go every day and never get bored. White Room After ordering and heading to my seat, to my left was a bright room with white walls. Black Room To my right was a chic room with red walls. I don't quite understand the concept, but it's interesting. So, I'll be having my food here this time. Tsu Marina from the Window I could see Tsu Yacht Harbor from the window. Blue sky and white yachts. What a great view! Marina Set The "Marina Set" (price of the hot dog alone + 180 yen), which includes one type of hot dog, a drink, and dessert, is a good deal, so I chose the smoked salmon and mozzarella cheese hot dog (780 yen). Smoked Salmon and Mozzarella A generous amount of smoked salmon, lettuce, tomato, and mozzarella cheese is sandwiched between soft, slightly sweet bread, overflowing from the bun. The salty flavor of the moist, thick smoked salmon and the chewy texture of the mozzarella cheese are a great combination. However, the amount of filling was so generous it was a little difficult to eat (lol). But that's a good thing! They had a Mont Blanc sweet hot dog available at the time, but unfortunately it was sold out. I'm curious about it. The sweet hot dogs would probably make great souvenirs. A friend of mine suggested we go eat amago (red-spotted masu trout), so they took me along for the ride. Off the Beaten Path That day, my friend picked me up at my parents' house, and we drove for about two hours... It was far, so far away. It might be my very first time venturing this deep into the mountains of Tsu City, near Sakakibara Onsen. Things got crazy right after we spotted the restaurant's sign... we had to navigate a road like this. If I hadn't been in a friend's car, I might have thought I was getting kidnapped (lol). Ichinozaka We finally spotted it! Making our way through the rain, we found several small, detached cottages and were led into one of them. Because of the rain, I completely forgot to take a picture of the outside... Amago Fish Tanks Right next to the building that serves as the office and kitchen, there were live fish tanks completely full of amago. Toward the back, there was another tank holding iwana (whitespotted char). Iwana Sashimi While they added charcoal to our irori (sunken hearth) and started grilling the salted amago, we kicked things off with some iwana sashimi. It had a nice, firm bite to it and tasted delicious with absolutely no fishy odor. I was thrilled, since you really can't get this kind of freshwater fish down in Okinawa. Amago Bone Sake Since I didn't have to drive, I went ahead and ordered some amago hone-zake (bone sake) ~♪ Sipping on hot sake, which had soaked up all the savory, umami flavors of the fish, while sitting in the slightly chilly mountains was just the absolute best. Two flasks disappeared in the blink of an eye. *Blush.* Butter-Grilled Amago With the butter-grilled version, you can eat the whole fish right from head to tail. The meat is slightly more delicate compared to a rainbow trout meunière. Salt-Grilled Amago The salt-grilled amago is ready! Slow-cooked carefully over a distant charcoal fire, the salt-grilled fish turned out incredibly moist and flaky. It was absolutely delicious! It takes a bit of effort to flip it and drain the juices so they don't drip directly onto the coals, but if this is the reward, it's totally worth the hassle. Amago Kamameshi This kamameshi (iron pot rice) features a whole, small amago cooked right in. Once you remove the head and tail and give it a good mix, you get that perfectly crispy scorched rice at the bottom. It’s simply irresistible. Amago Kamameshi & Salt-Grilled Trout If it means getting to eat this combo, I'd gladly drive two hours to come back here. Oh, and their wild boar hot pot in the winter sounds amazing, too♪ I definitely want to visit again for another meal! 2025.10 ☑️ A great photo spot featuring beautiful sunflowers in the summer and cosmos flowers in the fall. ☑️ Pet-friendly. Free admission. ☑️ The premises also feature dining options like "Ichishi Onsen Yasuragi-no-Yu" and "Rest House Cosmos". Located in Tsu City, Mie Prefecture, is "Tokotome-no-Sato." While it's primarily a hot spring facility, it's also a fantastic place to enjoy sunflowers in the summer and cosmos flowers in the fall. There are hardly any food stalls or vendors around. You can walk quite freely through the cosmos fields, making it a popular spot for families with kids and pet owners. Since it's free, it draws a good crowd, but the cosmos fields are spacious enough that it never feels too cramped.

2026.6 ☑️ Free parking. Admission is 1,500 yen. ☑️ A place where 77,700 hydrangeas of 58 varieties bloom all at once. ☑️ Pets are welcome. There isn't much shade, so heat protection is a must. Kazahaya no Sato is located in Tsu City, Mie Prefecture. It is most famous for its Hydrangea Festival. Hydrangeas bloom beautifully all over this incredibly spacious area. There are also food stalls, so you can grab a light bite to eat. It's pet-friendly, so many people brought their dogs. However, since there's very little shade, make sure you're prepared for the heat. Be careful as some paths might be muddy since they sprinkle water in certain areas.
