I I honestly came to Bursa without many expectations, but it quickly became one of the biggest surprises of my trip in Türkiye. The first thing that caught my attention was how the city blends history and nature so effortlessly. One moment you’re walking through centuries-old Ottoman streets, and the next you’re surrounded by mountain views and peaceful parks. It never feels rushed, which makes exploring incredibly enjoyable. One of my favorite moments was watching the city from Tophane as the afternoon light slowly covered the rooftops. Bursa has a calm atmosphere that’s difficult to describe until you experience it yourself. Even the simple act of walking around became one of the highlights of my visit. There are some places you visit once and remember forever. Cappadocia is definitely one of them. Located in central Türkiye, Cappadocia feels almost unreal. Its dramatic valleys, fairy chimneys, cave dwellings and ancient rock formations create a landscape unlike anywhere else. But what makes the experience even more magical is seeing dozens of colorful hot-air balloons slowly rise above the valleys at sunrise. Watching the balloons float through the morning sky while the first sunlight touches the fairy chimneys is one of those travel moments that is difficult to describe with words. The landscape changes color every few minutes, and the silence of the early morning makes the experience even more special. But Cappadocia is much more than hot-air balloons. 🗺️ A Simple 2–3 Day Cappadocia Route If it is your first time visiting, I recommend staying around Göreme because it is a convenient base for exploring many of the region’s highlights. 📍 Day 1 — Göreme & Sunrise Start your first morning early. If weather conditions allow, a hot-air balloon ride at sunrise is one of the experiences worth considering. If you prefer to stay on the ground, watching the balloons from a viewpoint in Göreme can also be unforgettable. After sunrise, explore the Göreme Open-Air Museum, where rock-cut churches and centuries-old frescoes reveal an important part of Cappadocia’s history. In the afternoon, walk through Love Valley and stay until sunset. The warm evening light makes the rock formations look completely different. 📍 Day 2 — Uçhisar & Paşabağ Start the day at Uçhisar Castle, one of the best places to enjoy panoramic views across Cappadocia. Then continue toward Paşabağ (Monk’s Valley), famous for its distinctive fairy chimneys. Take your time here. Cappadocia is not a destination that should be rushed from one attraction to another. Some hotels are simply places to sleep. Labranda Mares Marmaris felt like part of the destination itself. I spent 3 nights here, surrounded by pine trees, calm blue water and the kind of Mediterranean scenery that makes you slow down the moment you arrive. Here’s what my stay was actually like — and a few things I wish I had known before going. 🌲 1. The setting is the real highlight The hotel is built among pine trees and sits directly on its own peaceful bay. One of my favorite moments was simply lying under the trees, looking up at the blue sky and listening to the sea. It feels surprisingly secluded despite being close to Marmaris. 🌊 2. Go swimming early in the morning This was my favorite tip from the whole trip. In the morning, the sea was incredibly calm and crystal clear. From the pier, I could actually watch small fish swimming below the surface. If you love swimming or snorkeling, try to get to the water before breakfast or shortly afterwards. 🐠 3. Bring your snorkeling gear The visibility was excellent during my stay, especially around the pier. Even without going far from shore, there was plenty to see underwater. For me, this was one of those places where you keep saying, “Just one more swim…” 👟 4. Pack water shoes One thing worth knowing: the beach is mainly pebbly rather than soft sand. Water shoes made getting in and out of the sea much more comfortable, so I’d definitely put them on the packing list. 🌅 5. Don’t miss sunset Evenings had a completely different atmosphere. The light over the bay, pine-covered hills and boats created some of the prettiest views of the trip. My suggestion: find a quiet spot near the water before sunset and stay there until the sky changes color. 📸 My favorite little moments Morning swims in completely still water, watching fish from the pier, relaxing beneath the pine trees, snorkeling in the bay and ending the day beside the sea. Nothing complicated — just that perfect Mediterranean summer feeling. ⭐ Would I stay again? Yes. I’d especially recommend Labranda Mares Marmaris to travelers who care more about clear water, nature, swimming and peaceful surroundings than having a large sandy beach. Unlike the rocky landscapes that make Cappadocia famous, Avanos is incredibly green. Tall trees line the streets, colorful flowers brighten every corner, and the peaceful Kızılırmak River, the longest river in Turkey, flows gently through the town. One of the highlights was crossing the famous suspension bridge. As soon as you step onto it, you’ll notice that it gently sways beneath your feet. It may feel a little unusual at first, but after a few steps, it becomes part of the fun. Standing in the middle of the bridge, surrounded by beautiful river views, lush greenery, and the quiet atmosphere of Avanos, was one of my favorite moments of the entire trip. 🌉🌳 I also loved watching the ducks swimming in the river while local families enjoyed their afternoon walks nearby. Everything felt calm, peaceful, and authentic. 🎨 The home of Turkish pottery Avanos has been famous for pottery for centuries. Here’s exactly how I spent my perfect day on the island. ⛴️ Start your day with a ferry ride We took the ferry from Kabataş to Büyükada. The journey takes about 1.5 hours and costs 200 TRY per person. The ferry ride itself is part of the experience—you’ll enjoy fresh sea air, beautiful views of Istanbul, and seagulls flying alongside the boat. 🕊️🌊 🚲 Rent a bicycle As soon as we arrived, we rented bicycles for the whole day for 350 TRY. Since cars are not allowed on the island, cycling is the perfect way to explore every corner of Büyükada. It made the day even more fun! ☕ Coffee break Before starting our adventure, we stopped at a cozy café for coffee and a light breakfast. Taking a short break while enjoying the peaceful atmosphere was the perfect way to begin the day. 🌿 Cycle to the highest viewpoint Our next adventure was cycling uphill for almost one hour to reach a café with an incredible panoramic view over the island and the sea.
