Old Airport Road Food Trip
Singapore is famous for its food culture. As Singapore is made up of different races, the food and culture is as diverse as the people are. This diversity is very evident in their hawker centers. Hawker centers are often a building complex made up of different food stalls and dining areas. They offer a variety of local & western food choices including desserts, bakery and beverages. These hawker centers are all over Singapore as it has been a staple in local people’s lives and also due to its affordability.
There are a lot of popular hawker centers in Singapore, one of them is the Old Airport Road Food Center. This complex is massive and houses a lot of famous food stalls. I was able to visit this hawker center finally and tried 2 stalls. I tried the newly-opened Wooga Jjajang and the Meilock Soursop stall. I bought the jjajangmyeon with bulgogi and kalguksu. I loved the jjajang as it's not jelak, unlike others I've tried. I wasn't able to appreciate the kalguksu that much, as me and my friend were too full to really get into it. I paired my food with avocado shake from the soursop stall. It was super nice. My friend tried their signature soursop drink, and she said it was good.
It wasn't that crowded on a saturday afternoon. I will come back and try other stalls, too!

Before our mains arrived, we were surprised with a complimentary side dish of crispy potato wedges, which were pleasingly tart👍🏻 We tried the Southern-Style Fried Chicken for a side dish and were equally impressed. The chicken was crispy and tender, and the egg yolk sauce made it even better😋
Chou Bou Cafe specializes in egg dishes, so we ordered the Mentaiko Spaghetti with Egg. The egg was soft and satisfying, and the pasta was well seasoned. However, it felt more like a rice dish. We also ordered the Beef and Cheeseburger, which was surprisingly not oily, although the bun was a bit greasy😂
For dessert, we ordered the Japanese Pudding, which was average. The drinks were also average, so we wouldn't necessarily recommend them🙈
💰Total: around $200 per person
✅The service, food quality, and ambiance were all excellent, and for around $100, it's reasonably priced👍🏻😤

To be honest, I didn't think of trying this at first because although the pairing seemed quite special, it didn't seem particularly delicious😂 However, it turned out to be a pleasant surprise. The cheese paired with the Beijing duck sauce was surprisingly tasty and addictive. However, the duck breast topping was a bit lacking compared to the usual thin crust pizzas that give you a feeling of richness. It mainly relied on the Beijing duck sauce to make up for it, but it's still worth a try😤
🍝 Smoked Salmon Tomato Sauce Spaghetti $158
There were quite a lot of smoked salmon slices, and the portion was quite generous. The sweet and sour taste was appetizing and addictive, but this dish was originally paired with linguine, so it was a bit strange to have it with spaghetti instead. However, I still liked it😂

These chicken wings were not bad, but at $88 for 6 pieces, the value for money was not high🤔 The flavor was rich and slightly spicy, which was appetizing. As a snack, it was pretty good!!

This time, instead of trying Tiramisu again, I ordered this TiraBerry Waffle🧇 It was a pleasant surprise! I like waffles more because of their fluffy texture, and this one was topped with ice cream and berries. The contrast between the cold and hot was amazing🥰 In addition, the syrup added richness to the overall taste. Although it's not as popular as Tiramisu, it's definitely worth trying, and I would come back for it!

✅ As expected, the food here is definitely not inferior, especially the desserts, which were good enough to try twice. The pizza was also a pleasant surprise🤩 As for the price, everyone has to weigh it for themselves. Although the value for money is unknown, I think it's still okay, and I will definitely come back🤑

This teppanyaki restaurant is located in Heng Huan Tien Hou, just a two-minute walk from the MTR station. The restaurant mainly features bar tables, but the highlight is the floor-to-ceiling glass windows that offer a stunning view of Victoria Harbour 🏞️ while dining. It's truly a top-notch experience 🤭. This time, we ordered the entry-level set, which costs $1,380 💰.

Seaside hotel buffet | Everything you could want
Restaurant with a panoramic view of Victoria Harbour 🌅 located on the 2nd floor of Hyatt Centric Hotel 🏨. The wooden decor creates a soft and comfortable atmosphere, with a spacious dining area and clearly separated hot and cold food sections. It's also convenient to take food to go.
Recently, the restaurant has been featuring a Mediterranean theme 🍴, with dishes such as Mediterranean roasted pumpkin and asparagus, Mediterranean baked fish fillet, Greek fried chicken legs, eggplant meat sauce lasagna, and Turkish 🇹🇷 braised oxtail.
The most famous part of the restaurant is the dessert section 🤤, with a whopping ten flavors of ice cream 🍦! Personally, I prefer the cheese cake 🍰 and coconut 🥥 flavors. The pastry section also has Saint Honore cake, Portuguese egg tart, and vanilla tart. The dessert counter has Tiramisu, strawberry panna cotta, green tea red bean egg roll, caramel panna cotta, grapefruit protein tart, cheese cake, and many more, with a wide variety of styles 😍.
The seafood section has fewer options, with only mussels, shrimp, and clams, but they are all fresh. There are five types of sashimi, all very fresh and cut to order, with thick slices. The hot food section also has a Chinese cuisine specialty area, with soy sauce chicken, char siu, braised tofu, eggs, and red sausage. The dim sum section has some rare items, such as beef siu mai. The dim sum is kept warm with a steamer cover, and there are also Chiu Chow dumplings, shiitake pork siu mai, and char siu bao. The beef siu mai is quite good 😆. The BBQ area has a variety of sausages, including Moroccan lamb sausage, Cumberland sausage, Spanish sausage, and New England sausage, as well as vegetables such as jade melon and corn.
Overall, the environment is comfortable, with a wide variety of food options for lunch, and a view of the sea while eating. It's a great place to chill on weekends 😌. The ice cream is a must-try 😋.

There are several unique dining areas, and the food is of high quality and extremely creative. Every dish is well thought out and the service is excellent. Had a great time eating with friends 🫶🏻

🔸Crispy Fried Chives and Duck Blood: This appetizer is quite special! The outside is crispy while the inside is soft and smooth like tofu. The taste of the chives is fresh and sweet, which complements the fresh taste of the duck blood. Overall, the taste is not too heavy and is suitable as an appetizer.
🔸Drunken Chicken Roll with Fermented Rice: This dish is really special, with the taste of fermented rice and chicken blending together well, creating a fresh and delicious flavor. The taste of the fermented rice is not too strong, with a slight hint of wine fragrance, allowing the fresh taste and texture of the chicken to stand out. The roll also includes wood ear mushrooms and carrots, which adds to the texture.

🔸Honey Glazed Pork: This dish is really good! The outside is fried to a crisp, coated with honey, and the taste is fresh and delicious. The pork is wrapped around pineapple, which is juicy and tender, and the sauce is fragrant and sweet, but not too greasy.
🔸Flower Map Fried Rice: The rice is cooked perfectly, with a strong wok aroma, and is stir-fried with black truffle, beef and shrimp, which is especially fragrant and rich.

🔸Soy Milk and Goji Berry Vegetable Layered with Thousand Layers: There are several options for the daily vegetables, and we chose lettuce as the base. Really love their signature menu, 4 courses with different food choices, portion is just perfect for 2 ladies who can't eat much, great deal at $268.
Lobster crossiant is definitely their signature appetizer, tasted it years before and still can't forgot how amazing to have hot soup inside the bread, recommend everyone to give a try.
Grilled pork neck, meat is tendered and good match with the sour and spicy thai chilli sauce.
Grilled Skate Wing is not commonly appeared at HK restaurants, the fish texture is not bad and seems quite healthy, not fat at all.
We added morning glory, just can't resist this typical Thai dish.
Creme brulee wrap up the dinner decently, I like it not too sweet and has good balance with pineapple puree.
We both ordered drinks, coconut and Chamomile tea won't go wrong.

Great spot with various flavors and a taste of something different than you’re used to. It’s pretty unclear unless you’ve been there before I guess. You can pick whatever skewers you want at the counter and they’ll either fry or boil them for you. If you get them boiled you get a bowl of delightful broth with some kind of noodles or rice.
We ordered the Hometown Assorted Chicken Rice Noodles and Beef skewers Soup Bowl, that allowed us to choose our own ingredients. Like squid, chicken, beef, veggies, pork etc. We came here because we wanted something spicy 🌶 and quick. The atmosphere was relaxed with some pretty good Chinese music playing. We are glad that we went there and we will go back to try more food!

Hello Musae is a greek restaurant with a variety of dishes, drinks and desserts. They also have a kid’s menu which was perfect for my friend’s son. The food was yummy. My favourite was the pita bread with the tzatziki dip which is a typical Greek sauce made of Greek yogurt, cucumber & oregano. The salad was fresh and light. My baked potato pot was quite filling. I tried my friend’s shredded chicken. it was also tasty. I ordered this dragon fruit, blueberry fizzy drink which was quite interesting. They also have a bunch of other creative drinks as well as a variety of coffee. Prices are decent portion wise.

Nakamoto-san worked at Tokyo’s Michelin starred Ichiyanagi and Sushi Sase before opening up his own place, so I was looking forward to visiting this place and booked 2 months in advance, hoping it’s worth the hype...
I ordered Hana omakase this time, which included an appetiser, 14 pieces of sushi, a sushi roll,tamago, soup and dessert, charging $900 per person. Considering the amount and average quality of the sushi, it’s a bit overpriced.
Apart from being overpriced, I was utterly disappointed at the service, Nakamoto-san was very quiet all along and reluctant to elaborate on the sushi, only until he noticed I was a food-blogger, the manager and him started to be very attentive and volunteered the information themselves, this wide discrepancy in service and attitude was unaccpetable and appalling.
Overall, it wasn’t a pleasant omakase experience, with this price range of sushi restaurants in town, you can do A LOT better than this place.

Aaharn meaning “food” in Thai, is a world-class exploration of Thai cuisine by the well-known Chef David Thompson.
This top notch restaurant offers a spectrum of authentic Thai dishes using best quality ingredients, fresh herbs and vegetables brought in directly from Thailand daily along with hand pressed coconut milk in all of our curries.
Aaharn’s signature menu offers a balanced selection of courses that run from refreshing salads to rich curries, guest will experience the true Thai dining tradition of “kup kao”. The audacity of the bold flavour pairings is certainly worth praising about, a full spectrum of flavors running over your palate in every dish. The menu on my second visit was similar to that on my first with one exception: the dishes now are considerably less hot and spicy, suiting most Hongkonger’s preferences.
Overall this meal is a showcase of Thompson’s passion for and knowledge of Thai cuisine, sitting at one of the tables on the veranda you almost feel as if you’re in Thailand. Will definitely revisit in future !

From the ceramic tiles to the pastel yellow walls, the Southeast Asia decor caught my attention.
The menu was simple but filled with bold flavour, dishes were creatively composed and executed with finesse by Chef Dang, offering a reinterpretation of the traditional Vietnamese dish, with new inventive approach and flavour. Not only the dishes tasted great, the service staff were friendly and offered sound descriptions of the food, with advice on ordering for first-time guests. Highlights of the menu were stated below
Overall, the dishes were exceptional and innovative, together with a nice ambience definitely worth a second visit.

Hands down to the best kimchi pancake in town ! 🇰🇷OBP - a hidden gem found behind the Old Bailey street.
This gastropub provided an innovative Korean sool-jip experience in central, also a good place to unwind after a long day of work, immersing yourself in the calm woody interior while listening to K-pop
The menu included a wide variety of pub-style bites, from traditional pancakes to generous mains like braised beef and fried chicken. The most impressive dish was the kimchi pancake, super flavourful and crispy, definitely a must-order for kimchi fans.
Overall, it would be a good place to chill with your crew with great booze and moreish bites.

Another spot for pasta in Central apart from Pici and 121BC 🍝
PAZTA blends traditional Italian gastronomy and 21st century hospitality with a great Mediterranean atmosphere, bringing a taste of Italy in the heart of Central.
PAZTA offers a range of classic Italian dishes from Venice, Bologna, Rome, Sardinia etc. Alongside its a la carte menu, it also offers weekday lunch set ($140) and dinner set ($230), in which most people find the lunch set a much better deal.
Overall, the pasta was well seasoned and al dente, very authentic and classic , however portion might be a bit too small for guys. The Il Ghiottone appetizer platter ($390) looked better than it tasted, it’s good for sharing as a group but tasted so-so, the batter was wayyyy too thick for the fried ones....

Robuchon au Dome is like entering into a world of indulgence which gave me an incredible food journey through French refinement. This restaurant been awarded three Michelin stars for 13 consecutive years.
From the breath-taking panoramic view out there to the ostentatious and grand interior, you just couldn’t stop being overwhelmed with joy and surprises.
The numerous trolleys of food were the highlight of this fine dining. Robuchon au Dôme’s La Symphonie des Douceurs (the dessert trolley) was in keeping with the art of perfection. The exquisite chocolate hazelnut tart, mille feuille and passionfruit mousse tartlet impressed me the most in that trolley. Overall, its basically a quintessential French dining at its finest ,will elaborate more in my next post, stay tuned!

This signature roasted yellow chicken ever since Louise’s opening, I heard nothing but praise for this dish, and it’s all warranted. Perfectly cooked, with crispy skin and tender meat, the whole bird was paraded at our table before being carved. It is served along with a cast iron pot of Niigata rice well seasoned with chicken fat and chicken skin, spring onions and chives is certainly impressive and phenomenal.
There are a few standout dishes in the recommendations below , most dishes are delightful local french dishes . Do check them out when you visit next time !

When Swedish heritage meets Japanese ingredients, with French techniques....
Michelin-starred Swedish chef Björn Frantzén surprised us with another level of Nordic gastronomy
Highlight of the meal must be their signature French toast topped with summer truffles, the creaminess of the aged cheese paired well with the fungi, and the balsamic vinegar added a refreshing touch to the whole composition. The dish comes with a small cup of truffle tea which elevates the flavour.
Overall, it was a super delicious and eye-opening Nordic fine dining at a relaxed cozy environment, service was amazing and staff were all very friendly and attentive. Would definitely return for their dinner next time !

The innovative Nordic-Japanese cuisine at Arbor reflects the greatness of nature, using fresh ingredients which are mainly from Japan, creating a unity of the senses.
The culinary experience at Arbor is solid, elegant and sophisticated without the dullness of traditional fine dining.
