A Garden “Green” Hotel Stay in the City!
Back to one of my favourite “Green” hotels, - Park Royal Marina Bay “PRMBS” courtesy of @trip.com_sg ‘s green campaign for us trip blazers creators 💚
Committed to Sustainability and Green practices to help our environment, PRMBS is also known as Singapore’s first “Garden-in-a-Hotel”
From removing plastic bottles to using glass bottles for in-room amenities to having filtered water, lots of carbon emissions are being reduced and the hotel educates guests by having an informative block on sustainability in each room too.
Apart from their sustainability practices, their rooms, swimming pool, in-room dining plus f&b available within the hotel plus breakfast options have always been a delight ever since my first stay after the reopening in 2021, and I can’t wait to be back again!
Never say never to good local nasi lemak and yummy kaya spread for breakfast buffet!
Plus, the service staff have been one of the warmest and nicest I have ever met and have been well-trained to deal with all sorts of situations (saying from my personal experience after I spilled my cereal bowl 😵💫)
10/10 experience for me!
Thank you Trip for the experience once again! 🤩 for best room rates, do explore the Trip app for more ❤️

🇸🇬🪴🏨 My berry green staycation at PRMB
It was a berry wonderful staycation at PARKROYAL Collection Marina Bay. I have learned again how to be an environmentally conscious traveller. I always love the filtered drinking tap in their rooms. I always have my water bottle with me so this is berry useful. By making small changes to our travelling pattern, we can help to save the Earth and conserve energy along the way.
It is always amazing at PARKROYAL COLLECTION Marina Bay, Singapore is the country's first 'Garden-in-a-Hotel'.
Hoping my 2023 will be able to revisit the lovely PRMB :)

The Oasia To Coney Island PCN
A healthy way to start a weekend is either to cycle, run or do a nice stroll along the north of Singapore in Punggol.
There is a park connector which stretches from punggol to buangkok with an estimate distance of 6.1km. Who says north side do not have nice views right!
This park connector is one of the newer park connector in singapore and its well maintained which was opened in 2010 and boosts the biodiversity in the area featuring many wildlife like different species of birds. Along this park you will also be able to see views of the Straits of johor.⁹

The Ecofriendly, Healthy Living At Scoops
Are you someone who cares about the environment and also are wanting to have a healthy diet too? You should make scoops one of your bucketlist to visit in singapore!
Scoops is from the tour down under, Australia and has opened several Scoops outlet around Singapore where:
1. They are environmentally friendly and discourages the use of plastic bags.
2. They sell many eco friendly items so as to help the earth
3. They encourage you with words and quotes to eat healthy and purchase those eco-fridnly cutlery or bags.
Scoops also sells many non preservative items and most of them here are non processed items, therefor if you compare the prices, Scoops tends to be abit pricer, but if you are someone watching your diet. This place is perfect!

mount faber hike
#greentrip
did a hike which was relatively easy at mount Faber. so you can start from around the Henderson waves at telok Blangah. but do note that getting all the way up there can be a bit taxing as there are steep slopes or stairs so maybe you should take your time. then you can walk along Henderson waves and take some nice pictures or admire the view. then continue the marang trail and you will reach faber peak with a Birds Eye view of the south of Singapore. after that you can continue walking and see the cable cars that bring you to harbor front , but do continue your walk all the way to harbor front and vivo city. there after you can have a lunch break there. overall will take less than 1.5hours and it’s quite a short trail.
rail corridor
#greentrip
walked along the rail corridor trail on a Saturday afternoon and it was quite fulfilling and fun. I actually took a train to buona vista and started from there. and walked all the way past Holland village which is a stop point but I continued on to bukit timah. overall around 3km+ hike and it was easy because it was flat ground with no steep slopes or what not. just that there are many cyclists along this trail so you got to be careful while walking.
overall easy and nice in terms of watching the greenery and views and also saving money and fuel for transport. would recommend trying this at least once to keep fit and exercise as well. very fun activity to do on a weekends. highly recommended.
bukit timah railway station
#greentrip
you can actually get around Singapore quite easily by walking or hiking. and some easy routes would include the rail corridor. spent an afternoon walking at the rail corridor and I would say it’s quite interesting. the weather was good so it was not too hot. you can start all the way from outram and drop off at king Albert park , near the bukit timah railway station to learn more about the history of this place and the trains. very nice place with a lot of cool aesthetics to take photos. and look at the old school days and how the train system worked or where the workers used to stay. it’s a long walk but thereafter you can walk to many of the cafes located near here for a brunch. overall nice hike. and easy! coz the road is just flat.
Legoland Sealife Souvenior Shop
The Legoland Sealife Malaysia is an attraction that showcases the many marinelifes from jellyfishes, to the deep blue oceans, to tropical fishes and also educated us on how the oceans are actually in trouble due to our human actions and pollution to the environment.
The giftshop is part of the legoland sealife attraction where it has special items pertaining to the sea or lego build ups belonging to boats or ocean life specifics. They have many other souvenirs like towels, mugs and even reusable bags which I say this is a must support gift shop especially if you are going green and doing your part for the environment.
Purchase yourself a souvenir, and for those who have a triple pass will be entitled discounts of the merchandises bought from sealife giftshop and also they do not support plastic bags but instead a paper bag will be given for your purchase in order to help with the environment.

Green Stay with Laundry Option
My first #greentrip at Park Royal Beach Road club room include laundry service but there's a note saying housekeeping will change bedsheet not that often to save water, detergent and the earth. Not taking any offend as this is an environmental friendly effort.
I support this kind of move. Besides, my bedsheets and everything is still clean also just when I enter the room. Only problem is the carpet which is quite dusty. However, I don't really bother as I have no dust allergy.
Cleanliness is still well maintain, so you don't need to worry about it. I had a great time here spent in the room!

Save Water in Nice Environment
Experience #greentrip while there is filtered water for you to drink from special tap in room. Singapore water is very safe to be consumed but if drink directly from tap sometimes there's iron taste on it.
This filtered water, however, is pure and fresh. No need to worry because its filtered. If you worry about hygiene, you can boil the water too. In effort of becoming green with less plastic bottle, this is a nice move. Here I can enjoy the tea without "additional taste";
Thank you Park Royal Beach Road for the effort to save the earth and be green!

Comfortable Hotel that makes u go green :)
#greentrip #gogreen #comfortablestays #greeninspiration
If you are considering a vacation to batam and will be heading towards there by ferry, arriving at Batam Ferry Terminal, consider staying at Harris Hotel Batam.
It was a comfortable stay and you can see that the hotel pays attention to saving environment
- offering bicycle for rent to reduce carbon footprint
- saving water notice in terms of shower facilities
- slippers provided are non disposable kind - which means you can reuse it
- soap provided is just with a label - no plastic included
- and stirrers for drinks are also reusable etc
so stay here if you can - it’s comfortable and green, with a pool and supper going from $1+. Not to say, they also have a good view :)
Highly recommended.
Support local farms with farm to table dining
Eco friendliness through supporting farm to table restaurants such as Open Farm Community may not be as apparent from the customer’s perspective. However, by doing so, we are not only supporting the businesses of local farms where the restaurants source their ingredients from, but also we are helping to reduce the amount of resources required, such as transportation and storage of ingredients, and in turn reducing the carbon footprint. Most of the farms also strive to practice eco friendly and sustainable farming such as avoiding the use of pesticides, hence supporting them also encourages them to keep up the good work.
Yet, the quality and freshness of the ingredients and in turn the dishes are not compromised. The restaurant is awarded the Michelin Plate, and the cauliflower wings is their winning dish. The cauliflower is fresh and the sauce is unique too, making it a delicious and healthy snack.
The restaurant is committed to play their own part for the environment. For their cold beverages such as the kaya toast latte which I had ordered, a reusable metal straw is used in place of a single-use plastic straw. They adopted the use of wooden furniture and layout indoors, and it is interesting to use sacks previously for dry ingredients such as coffee beans for belongings. They have their own farm where they also get their ingredients from. They have an initiative that allows customers to adopt a tree under their name to support reforestation efforts overseas.

Eco Friendly Shopping with Scoop Wholefoods
What makes Scoop Wholefoods stand out from other supermarkets or shops, is how they encourage customers to be eco friendly through shopping for their essentials, and we can glean tips from them on how to do so!
The food items here go by weight so that you just take how much you need instead of buying in bulk, either by scooping the food, or by using the dispensing machines that contain the nuts. The packaging to pack the food is made of paper instead of plastic. Alternatively, you may purchase a glass bottle from them, and they also encourage bringing your own container to pack the food.
For liquid items such as kombucha, oils and vinegars, it goes by the volume. Again, glass bottles are used here, so you pick up a bottle and dispense into it. Their household items are also made of sustainable materials that are biodegradable or compostable such as bamboo, yet not compromising on quality and durability.
There are many outlets in Singapore, be it in the busy shopping belt of Orchard Road or in the shopping malls located in the heartlands. Sometimes, there are discounts for certain items too. Kill two birds by supporting their business while saving the environment!

GreenLiving Start from OurSelf
#greentrip #greenliving
Green living means choosing our lifestyle to reduce negative impact and preserve the earth's natural resources by promoting saving the planet. There are many ways to practice Green Living, especially when traveling.
Here are some of my Green Living practice when traveling;
-Take public transport or choose an electric car when I order a private car
-Bring my recycle bag; in Europe, many retailers impose charges on plastic and paper bag; Carrefour in Paris charges 10cent for a plastic bag; DutyFree in Paris airport charges 10 cents for a plastic bag and 1 euro for a paper bag.
-Reduce the usage of a paper bag by combining your shopping into one bag; you can't bring all the paper bags back home as it will add to your luggage weight.
-Bring your water; it saves the plastic bottle and your money. A bottle of 500 ml of water can cost you 2-3 euros in the public area unless you buy it in the supermarket.
-Support the green and bio campaign by buying more bio-green products.
-Manage your food, such as buffet food, although you have paid for it. Wastage food is not a nice gesture; if unsure, take a small amount to try first.
-Remind your friends or partner not to take the food on your behalf because everyone has their preference and taste. Taking too much food and the leftover is not cool.
-Instead of throwing it away, keep some leftover food to share with others, such as Bird.
If we don't start it first, who else?
25 Hours Terminus Nord Paris
#greentrip #greenstay
Green travel is all about creating a positive effect on the communities we visit. We often forget or don't care when we stay in the hotel; some of my friends feel we already pay for the price. It is not about the money; it's about wastage and saving mother earth.
Here are my green stay practices on my recent trip to Paris;
1. Turn off the light, open the window and use the natural light from the outside. Turn off the light for unnecessary needs, and don't forget to switch off the light when leaving the room.
2. Wisely in using the amount of water, stop the water when we are not using it; although we didn't pay the water bill, some parts of the world need clean water and or water shortages.
3. Press the appropriate button after finishing your business in the toilet. We should know when we need to press the small button and the big button.
4. Participate in a hotel program to reuse linen and towel.
Some people may laugh at you, but don't let all these challenges deter you. It is our choice and our value to save mother earth. If we don't start it first, who will?
Save the planet!
Cycling Around Singapore
#greentrip #greentravel
Green travel is not a trend, but it's our choice to help lighten the blemish on mother earth through green travel practices. Green travel is any transportation that doesn't negatively impact the environment, such as walking, biking, and electric vehicle. Also this is another way to reduce traffic congestion and decrease the demand for fuel and gasoline.
During my free time, I exercise by cycling around Singapore instead of exercising in the gym. If I don't have a meeting appointment, I cycle to my office or for a casual lunch appointment and or for my dinner; usually, I cycle. Study shows that cycling can improve the function of your lower body and strengthen your leg muscle without overusing your joints.
The other health benefits I gained from cycling are decreased body fat level, improved cardiovascular fitness, and reduced stress level because I can see and taking pictures of many beautiful spots, landmarks, and historical sites in Singapore.
Therefore, green travel is a win-win solution in which we make an effort to save mother earth, and at the same time, we also benefit ourselves. I encourage you to spread the initiative and participate in green travel.
Save the planet, save a life!
Green Environment Stay
First time having this #greentrip at Park Royal Beach Road. I heard of the green concept but in my mind I thought there will be something like garden, but this place is incredibly over green.
When I entered, I feel like in amazon. With much interior display of green (literally) and green plants with huge leaves, make it more like artificial green environment.
However, I love the greens in swimming pool area. It feel like real garden with plants, well manage and not as messy as those in lobby. Kudos to the designer and those who maintain it.

If you are someone who loves to cook yourself using Japanese ingredients and have not been to Don Don Donki, do check out it’s various outlets in Singapore. it promises to offer the lowest price in Singapore - see photos for price match and offer a decent variety of real Japanese items.
they do their part to save the environment by offering a bagging station, charging extra for plastic bag to minimise it’s usage and also provide recyclable bag for one to purchase after shopping to bag one’s item- at an affordable price.
Would recommend you to check out their wide variety of sauce, ingredient and instant noodles ;)
The Plantation Bay Resort & Spa
An ideal weekend vacation to Philippines cebu for a short beach side scenic holiday is my perfect relaxation destination and plus now trip is also promoting the #greentrip holiday where you should travel on singapore airlines where now they are also using sustainable packaging by serving you in biodegradable cardboard and wooden fox and spoons. This definitely incur costs, but they do care about the environment which I feel we should support an airline who does this.
Arriving into cebu, this resort is located on Lapu Lapu island, Marigondon, Mactan Island, Lapu-Lapu City, 6015 Cebu, Philippines. This resort is one if the largest resort in cebu where it has waterways and rooms that is right infront of the waters. This is an ideal vacation for families and friends with great food served by the hotel and a choice of also having a romantic lunch or dinner by the beach, this is the perfect get away vacation for a short weekend trip!

Unique Bamboo House Experience in Ubud, Bali
Greeted by paddy field upon arrival. There is footpath that leads us to our bamboo house. Btw there are few bamboo houses at New Earth Heaven complex, ours called Moonstone Dome. And there is one bamboo house nearby but sufficient distance for privacy.
Perhaps you worry about mosquito or insects when you find this kind of place, but guess what?! We didn’t get bitten by any. We only heard crickets singing outside but i love that kind of serene nature sound, don’t you?!
Oh! Don’t expect they will have an aircon too inside the room, in fact the room is very cooling due to high ceiling. If you still feel warm or stuffy there is a fan. But again, i prefer natural breezy winds..
They have separate toilet on 2nd floor.. The toilet using eco concept so whenever you do your business, they will process it into compost. There is a toilet bowl, however they don’t have flush system, you just need to throw a few bunch of wood chips that they provide just beside the toilet. The smell might not be pleasant for some people, but i still can take it, lol.. However it was such an unique experience!
In the end what you expect staying in Bamboo House/ Hut, whatever u called them? For us, it was such unique experience, something different than usual 5 stars hotel or resort. As an eco accomodation, so you can expect that the facilities are environmental friendly, thus no aircon, no plastic material, promote recycle, etc.

One of the biggest zoos area in Asia.
Specialty of this zoo is it has educational facility for the young ones.
In addition it also have displayed on how people extract water from underground.
There is one area where domestic animals can roam around . Can see duckling and ducks wade around in a line. I called this trained ducks . The panda I believe is the main feature .
I enjoyed the greenery and free carbon. Taiwan is very supportive of recycling hence can find recycling bins every where. Note that for boxed drink. I learned that you need to flatten it every time you want to dispose.

Penguins are just so cute. One of the tourist dropped the glove and penguin tried to flip the glove . Recommend to visit if your own country doesn’t snow

Green Travel
#greentrip #greenliving #greentravel
We can help save the earth and environment by adopting some of these green tips, be it when traveling or at home:
1. BYO- Bring your own water bottle. Take note of Water Refill points to refill your water, instead of buying water and throwing it away after use, thereby reducing plastic waste. I usually bring my own water bottle when going out, and have refilled countless times at Muji, airports, parks etc.
2. Bring your own Bag to reduce the use of single-use bags. Similarly, bring your own Bag when going out so that you can pack all your purchases inside after that. You can get those where it can be reduced to a small bag to save space.
3. Recycle Bin - When traveling, there are bound to be some bottles we use, so look out for recycling points where you can throw these bottles into.
4. Support those Reduce Waste initiatives such as the POOL Project at Muji, where they use the leftover cloth scraps to make new clothes. Alternatively, you may also visit second hand clothes outlets and purchase these 2nd hand clothing. I had purchased some both at home and overseas & they all look like new.
5. Bring your bottles for refill. This will be a bit tough to do while traveling, but you can certainly do it at home.
Free bike rental at Hotel JEN!
Do you know you can enjoy free bike 🚲 rental at JEN Singapore Tanglin by Shangri-La?
Yes! This cosy hotel offers free bike rental for their guests. I found out about this special perk when I stayed at JEN Singapore Tanglin. Check out the two stunning Tokyo Bikes parked in front of the hotel!
The hotel is filled with fun and sporty designs that inspire eco-friendly travel through cycling.
The best way to explore the city without leaving behind carbon footprint is to hop on a bicycle and pedal. Thanks to the rental bicycles, I explored the top sights in downtown Orchard and UNESCO heritage Botanical Gardens.
Cycling tip: Start your riding journey early in the morning when the shopping streets are empty. You can cycle breezily through the streets connecting the shopping malls and parks.

Sustainable travel with green hotel
Would you like to be a green traveler?
Here are some tips on how to enjoy travel while taking care of our planet!
1. 🏨 Choose an eco-friendly hotel
I highly recommend PARKROYAL COLLECTION Pickering. It is Singapore’s first hotel-in-a-garden designed by world-renowned architects WOHA. The hotel showcases the best of the urban and natural landscapes with environmentally-friendly facilities and technologies.
2. 💧Travel with a refillable water bottle
Avoid consuming water from plastic bottles. I love the green practices of PARKROYAL COLLECTION Pickering as they provide their guests with water served in reusable glass bottles.
3. 🌳 Participate in a green activities that have zero carbon emission
One of the more enjoyable outdoor activities is to take a walk in nature.
Do you know PARKROYAL COLLECTION Pickering has an urban high-rise garden walk? You can enjoy a relaxing walk on the fifth level through the green corridor that is filled with flora and fauna. And most amazingly, the green landscape is designed to be self-sustaining–rainwater collected from the upper floors irrigates the green walls, plants, and trees decorating the hotel.
