A Cultural Gem in the Heart of Liverpool
#Gallery #art #Museum
My exploration of Liverpool led me to the exquisite Liverpool Victoria Gallery & Museum, a hidden treasure brimming with art, history, and wonder. Nestled within the University of Liverpool's iconic red-brick building, this museum was a delightful fusion of academic heritage and artistic marvels.
As I stepped inside, I was greeted by a diverse collection of artifacts, from ancient Egyptian mummies to intricately detailed geological specimens. The museum's Victorian-era architecture added to its charm, creating a captivating atmosphere that transported me back in time.
Wandering through its galleries, I marveled at the fine art collections, including paintings, sculptures, and decorative arts, showcasing the creativity of human expression. The museum's dedication to education was evident, with informative exhibits explaining Liverpool's maritime history and scientific discoveries.
One of the highlights was the Tate Hall Museum, a meticulously reconstructed ancient Egyptian tomb, where I immersed myself in the mysteries of the past. The rooftop garden, offering panoramic views of the city, provided a serene escape, allowing me to reflect on the rich cultural heritage surrounding me.
The Liverpool Victoria Gallery & Museum wasn't just a repository of artifacts; it was a testament to Liverpool's intellectual and creative legacy. It left me inspired, reminding me of the boundless depths of human knowledge and artistic ingenuity.
Artistic Reverie: A Day of Inspiration
#Museum #Gallerys #art In the heart of Manchester, I embarked on a transcendent journey at The Whitworth, a sanctuary of art and creativity that promised a day of artistic immersion and soul-stirring inspiration.
As I stepped into the gallery, I was immediately embraced by an atmosphere of creative energy. The walls adorned with masterpieces seemed to pulse with life, each stroke of the brush and every sculpted contour telling a story of passion and imagination.
Wandering through the galleries, I found myself captivated by a diverse array of artworks. From classical paintings that echoed the grandeur of centuries past to contemporary installations that challenged the boundaries of artistic expression, The Whitworth curated a symphony of styles and perspectives. The air was filled with the subtle scent of oil paints and the soft murmur of appreciative whispers, creating a sensory experience that transcended the visual realm.
One particular exhibit, bathed in soft natural light, showcased the delicate art of textile and embroidery. Intricate patterns and vibrant colors adorned fabrics, each thread meticulously woven to create a tapestry of cultural richness. It was a testament to the skilled hands that had crafted these textiles, preserving traditions and heritage in every stitch.
The gallery's botanical garden, a tranquil oasis just beyond the glass walls, provided a serene escape. Blooming flowers and verdant foliage framed the space, inviting moments of quiet contemplation. The gentle rustle of leaves and the distant chirping of birds added a melodic backdrop to the artistic ambiance.
A highlight of my visit was the interactive art workshop, where I had the opportunity to unleash my own creativity. Guided by talented artists, I experimented with paints and brushes, allowing my imagination to flow freely onto the canvas. The sense of liberation and self-expression was invigorating, reminding me of the transformative power of art.
Leaving The Whitworth, I carried with me not just the memories of the artworks that had stirred my soul but a profound sense of gratitude for the artists and curators who had curated this space of creative brilliance. The Whitworth had not only showcased art; it had created an environment where art came to life, where inspiration was tangible, and where the boundaries between artist and observer blurred. It was a day of artistic reverie, a journey that left an indelible mark on my creative spirit and a deep appreciation for the boundless
Let's Get Artsy In An Industrial Building
Tanjong Pagar Distripark is an industrial building located next to a historic port. It has different art galleries along with other industrial tenants. Some of the galleries housed here that we were able to visit are Singapore Art Museum, the Gajah Gallery, and 39+ Art Space.
Gajah Gallery is a gallery for Southeast Asian artists and the exhibition we were able to see is of Philippine Art. The gallery is not that big and it’s bare. It’s not intimidating. The current exhibition is relatable as I understand what they want to convey.
Singapore Art Museum is temporarily housed here as it’s actual is building is under redevelopment and will not be open until 2026. The only available exhibition at the time we visited was Proof of Personhood. I honestly think this exhibition is not very casual-visitor-friendly. The message and ideas being conveyed by the whole exhibition about identity amid these times of developing technology is very thought-provoking.
Another gallery we were able to visit is the 39+ Arts Space. I was not able to take photos, but the current exhibition is of Abstract paintings.
Tanjong Pagar Distripark is located at 39 Keppel Road and there’s a bus stop outside the complex.

No. 1 Visual Arts Festival in Singapore
Light to Night Festival is an annual event in Singapore that showcases art and exhibitions from varied disciplines of art including interactive programs and installations. A favorite showcase that I always look forward to is the light projections or illuminations scattered across the civic district. Since the festival is organised by the National Gallery Singapore, the gallery usually offers free entry on weekends with extended opening hours.
We went on a Wednesday night to avoid the weekend crowd. Our first agenda was to sit at the Padang and watch the illumination on the National Gallery itself. We spent a bit of time here since we didn't get to watch the start. Lots of people also bring their mats to chill around here. Every time I watch this, I get reminded of how I would want to have this festival back in my home country also. We then went to the “bubbles” installation and took way too many photos there. The installation worked well with Marina Bay Sands and National Gallery as its backdrops in photos. Another projection we always enjoy is at the Victoria Building since the façade shape is different than usual because of the tower in the middle.
This is one of the festivals I'm always looking forward. Expect me to be there again next year. When going there though, consider going on weekdays as there’s fewer people going around. Also wayfinding won’t be difficult since there are staff usually giving out maps and brochures.

Hanoi - Modern and Ancient Arts Together
The National Museum of Fine Arts in Hanoi is one of Vietnam’s best museums. It tells the history of art in the area and surrounding lands from the prehistoric era until the present day. The exhibitions on religious art and art during the war are especially interesting. The museum is a bit of a maze! So be careful not to miss any of the exhibits before you leave! The section dedicated to pottery is tucked away and could easily be missed.#art #modernartmuseum #Museum #modernart

The Gallery of Modern Art is a gallery that displays contemporary arts in Scotland. It is one of the top tourist attractions in Scoland due to the statue right infront of it which always has a traffic orange cone on its head which signifies freedom of speech and the protector of the gallery. We managed to get in to this exhibition hall and saw Banksy's exhibition. It was so interesting. Nothing is Art if it doesn’t come from Nature
Sagrada Familia is one of the most iconic art piece designed by Antoni Gaudi.
It is the largest unfinished Catholic Church in the world.
To date, the church still under construction and it would take many years to complete.
Maybe many people could not wait for the church to be built on that day.
I hope I got a chance to revisit this magical place again when it is fully built.
