Visiting the Dolmabahçe Palace was the highlight of my trip to Istanbul. It felt as if I had gotten into a time machine and stepped foot into the presence of royalty. The palace gates were MASSIVE and beautifully crafted. The courtyard felt familiar as it looked like something depicted in a movie. But to walk into the actual palace was a surreal moment. It wasn’t a place that was built to be a replica of what used to be, but this was the actual living quarters of where the Ottoman Sultans once ruled. To say that the palace is beautiful would be an absolute understatement. I don’t know that my vocabulary is advanced enough to effectively describe the intricate detail of the inside of this estate. Photos and videos could not possibly capture the effortless beauty of what lied before me. I was in complete awe. I stopped and stared several times in order to take in all that my eyes were witnessing. In my travels in other European countries, I’ve seen many beautiful hand-painted ceilings, but the detail in this place won me over by far. From the carvings in the pillars to the elaborate chandeliers, I literally couldn’t believe my eyes.
Needless to say, if you’re ever in Istanbul, make sure you go see the exquisite beauty of the Dolmabahçe Palace for yourself.

🇵🇹 Quinta da Regaleira, the most Beautiful Mansion in Sintra
#wheretogo
A visit to Sintra is not complete without visiting Quinta da Regaleira, one of the most beautiful estates classified as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO within the "Cultural Landscape of Sintra". Quinta da Regaleira is a neo-gothic mansion designed and built in the late 1800s. The major attractions of the mansion are its picturesque gardens and the iconic initiation well. The initiation well is not a real well as a source of water. It is an underground tower in the Quinta da Regaleira built for ceremonial purposes. It consists of a 27-metre spiral staircase about 6 storeys high. At the bottom of the well are two main tunnels, one of which leads to the outdoor garden. It was truly a surreal and magical experience walking down the well and through the tunnels!

🇰🇷 Walk around Gyeongbokgung Palace in Hanbok
#citywalk
Gyeongbokgung Palace (景福宫) is the largest palace out of the five palaces in Seoul. It was constructed at the end of 14th century during the Joseon period. Over the next few hundreds years, the palace was destroyed, abandoned and reconstructed before being torn down during the Japanese occupation. Since 1990, an effort to restore the palace to its former glory has been ongoing.
The palace is a short walk away from Gyeongbokgung subway station Exit 5. We rented Hanbok (Korean traditional costume) at one of the many rental shops nearby before we entered the palace. The rental included basic hairstyling and additional accessories were available at extra cost. The admission to the palace is 3000 won but we got free admission since we were dressed in Hanbok. Therefore it is not surprising to see many visitors walking around the palace dressed in Hanbok. It was a fun and memorable experience for us taking pictures at different parts of the palace.
The palace is closed on Tuesdays. There are a few free guided tours in foreign languages available on certain days of the week.

Chakri Maha Prasat Throne Hall🌅
Chakri Maha Prasat is a blend of Thai traditional architecture and a combination of 19th-century European styles.
Maha Prasat are composed of nine major and minor halls, structured in a similar scheme to the Maha Monthien Halls from north to south, however the two building groups contrasts greatly in styles.
Formerly the site hosted eleven different residential halls and pavilions; in 2012 only three are left, although they have been completely reconstructed: The Chakri Maha Prasat Throne Hall, the Moon Satharn Borom Ard Hall and the Sommuthi Thevaraj Uppabat Hall. Behind these structures lie the grand Borom Ratchasathit Mahoran Hall, which has been recently rebuilt.
None of the rooms are open to the public, as state functions are still carried out within.

Beijing's Magnificent Imperial Palace 🇨🇳
#timetotravel
The Forbidden city or The Palace Museum is once home to the Imperial families of China in which common people could not enter. However, nowadays it is no longer forbidden. It is now available to the public in which we can all admire the beauty of the imperial palace from its facade down to the interior of the palace. We can have a glimpse of how the imperial family used to live before in the walled palace. The palace nothing but grand and majestic. I suggest you book in advance because they only allow certain number of tourists daily or go there really early to buy your ticket if you are visiting the palace on the same day. We went there twice but we were only successful getting in once. The second time we were there they ran out of tickets and it was our last day in Beijing. Suggested visit duration: minimum of three hours. The palace is massive you could easily stay here for an entire day if you really want to see everything in detail. Entrance fee: 60 rmb and bring your passport. They will ask for it. Enjoy the tour in the palace!

The Mighty Alhambra palace, Granada
Alhambra Palace, Grenada, Andalusia Spain
The Alhambra palace is a fascinating landmark and icon of southern Spain, a must see if you are traveling within Andalusia. Easily accessible by high speed rail or motorway Granada itself is a beautiful city worth visiting, with it’s hilltop palace the crowing glory.
At over 1800 years old this magnificent palace is a combination of architectural styles and features as the palace changed hands so many times between Christans and Muslims. It is one of the most in tact examples of medieval Islamic architecture and it is something you have to see to believe.
Starting at the bottom you can take side streets from central Granda that give way to a cobbled path that starts the boundaries of the palace grounds. Working your way up the hill you can see the sheer scale of the building before you.
Within the grounds there are various different buildings to explore, each with their own historical and architectural story and identity. Along with it these buildings offer stunning views of the city below and the surrounding areas.
There are plenty of toilets, gift shops and places to buy snacks and beverages but the palace does get overwhelmed by tour groups at times. I went early on a weekday morning so managed to avoid the rush, but by about 11 the place was very full. Certain areas are only accessible with tickets but the majority of the grounds and lesser known buildings are free to enter.
I didn’t get the tickets to access all areas but still managed to see plenty of areas within the grounds. There is also a car park on site but again that gets very busy and it is quite expensive compared to the area, best option is to drive into the city or get public transport and make your way into the palace on foot

Where the British Royals Live 🏴
#londontrip
We bumped into Kensington Palace without knowing a lot of it. So we just decided to look around and see what is there to offer inside. To our surprise it is still where His and Her Royal Higness William, Kate and their children still live here whenever they are in London. It is just a small part of the palace that is actually open to the public but it is suffecient enough to know more about the royal members who used to live here. It even has Princess Diana's statue holding William and Harry as kids.
Very interesting and educational especially the lives of Queens Victoria and Mary and George II. You will see jewelries and painting inside.
Address: Kensington Palace, Kensington Gardens, W8 4PX.
Addmission ticket cost: 19.50 pound per adult and 9.70 per child.
Enjoy your tour around London.

"Seoul-authentic" Hanok Village
Seoul, the capital city of South Korea, is a vibrant metropolis that seamlessly blends modernity with its rich cultural heritage. While it is known for its skyscrapers and bustling cityscape, Seoul also boasts traditional houses and buildings that provide a glimpse into its past.
One of the most prominent examples of traditional architecture in Seoul is the Bukchon Hanok Village. Located between Gyeongbokgung Palace and Changdeokgung Palace, this well-preserved neighborhood showcases hundreds of hanok, which are traditional Korean houses. The hanok feature elegant curved roofs, wooden pillars, and exquisite detailing. Some of them have been converted into guesthouses, museums, and cultural centers, allowing visitors to experience the traditional way of living.
Another notable traditional building in Seoul is Gyeongbokgung Palace, the largest of the Five Grand Palaces of the Joseon Dynasty. Built in the 14th century, it served as the royal residence and administrative center. Gyeongbokgung Palace exhibits remarkable architectural elements, such as the Geunjeongjeon Hall with its ornate throne room and the Gyeonghoeru Pavilion, which sits on an artificial lake. The palace complex also houses the National Palace Museum of Korea, where visitors can explore historical artifacts.
These traditional houses and buildings in Seoul offer a glimpse into the city's cultural heritage and provide a contrast to its modern urban landscape. Exploring these sites allows visitors to appreciate the beauty and significance of traditional Korean architecture while immersing themselves in Seoul's rich history.

It's like stepping into a movie and reliving South Korean Joseon Dynasty again. This was so sensational. It is spectacular how this is divided from the modern world. The amazing building that is incredibly painted with a series of gates and buildings that truly speak to the soul of Korea. The setting between mountains and the city is amazing and the juxtaposition of the palace to modern Seoul is stunning. The gates and the palace are the stars but the dining hall on the pond is an incredible building in a beautiful setting. Not only can you relive this, but the art performances were also magnifying. I felt like a South Korean royal. We rented the Hanbok to immerse ourselves more in the korean culture and also stumbled upon the changing of the guard, such a very interesting ceremony. The vibe of this palace is very touristy with the people strolling and taking pictures in their Hanbok. This was one of the highlights of my trip! Such a great experience.
Tip:
Entry price is incredibly reasonable at 3k but free if you're wearing a hanbok. There are free guided tours on offer as well with a timetable available when purchasing your tickets.
Highly recommend ensuring you are there for the change of guard ceremony (10am & 2pm) as it's unique. There are maps available, take one - the place is huge. Be prepared to walk a lot and bring water as you will be in the sun.

Museum of King John III's Palace , Poland
Wilanów Palace is the Baroque gem of Warsaw. The palace and garden remained unchanged despite annexations, wars and occupations. The ruler, who gained the nickname of the fearless Lion of Lechistan, lived in the palace with his beloved wife, Maria. The Wilanów Palace was established at the behest of King Jan III as his suburban summer residence. The shape of the Palace is clearly symmetrical, with the building divided into the northern part, with decorations dedicated to Queen Marie Casimire, and the southern part, “assigned” to King Jan III. #palace 🇵🇱 #warsaw

Wilanow Palace in Warsaw ⌛️🏰🕵️
The history of the Wilanow Palace, a wonderful Baroque royal residence, began on April 23, 1677, when a village became the property of King John Sobieski III. At the beginning, the residence built there was small. Augustyn Locci, the king’s court architect, received the task of creating only a ground floor residence of a layout typical for the buildings of the Republic of Poland. However, military successes and an increase of the importance of royalty in the coming years had a huge influence on expanding the initial project. Huge construction works were conducted in the years 1677-1696. After completion, the building comprised of elements of a nobility house, an Italian garden villa and a French palace in the style of Louis XIV. After the death of the King, the Palace became the property of his sons, and in 1720, a run down property was purchased by one of the wealthiest women in Poland of those days – Elizabeth Sieniawska. In 1730, the Palace, for three years, was owned by king August II the Strong, who made considerable changes in the residence, particularly as far as the internal décor is concerned.
In the middle of 18th century, the Wilanów property was inherited by the daughter of Czartoryski, wife of a field marshal, Izabela Lubomirska, during whose reign, Wilanów started shining with its previous glory. Sixty nine years later, the Duchess gave Wilanów to her daughter and her husband, Stanislaw Kostka Potocki. Thanks to his efforts, one of the first museums in Poland was opened in the Wilanów Palace, in 1805.#warsaw #poland #wilanow #palace #castle #museum

If you come to Bangkok you should see the magnificent buildings within the Grand Palace compound to get a feeling of the grandeur architectural style. It was my second time here but I am still amazed with the architectures inside that huge fence. Hopefully someday I can go nearer and inside the temple itself.
Always remember when you enter any sacred places you must wear polite clothing. But nothing to worry because there are many rentable clothings and even buyable clothings outside.
