wanting a date night out and looking for somewhere where this place is abit on an upscale French version and most importantly halal? Yes, there are definitely many halal options here in singapore but one cafe here in singapore deserve a shout out is The White Label located at 734 North Bridge Rd, #01-01, Singapore 198702. Their service firstly is something to be commendable, very efficient and polite as each server here has a ear piece on their ears just in case you require any additional cutlery or any request. Village Bugis Hotel is really strategic which located at Arab Street and Kampung Glam. Beside the great location, it actually provides an amazing restaurant with superb dishes! Golden Landmark Shopping Centre located at 390 Victoria St, Singapore 188061 is one of the very few old standing malls in Victoria Street/Bugis Area where a hotel was also build on top of this shopping mall called village hotel now previously called golden landmark hotel. The shopping mall consists of a wide array of shops that caters mostly towards the Muslim community since its suited very near Kampong glam. Most of the businesses here are family-owned businesses where they sell malay wedding stresses, fashion for the Muslim community, accessories, jewellery, textiles and tour agencies that cater to the community as well. Authentic Vietnamese Food at Le Saigon Cafe

Le Saigon Cafe is a new cafe serving up authentic Vietnamese cuisine, just a short walk from Bugis MRT along Liang Seah Street 🚶🏻The cozy decor, friendly staff and delicious food brought Vietnam to me ☺️ I was enticed by the extensive menu, with unique offerings that are not commonly found in Singapore! The [Le Saigon Pho Premium ($29.80)] pho set comfortably feeds 2, with a generous portion of tender meat cuts and rice noodles served separately, and accompanied by a bowl of warm, flavourful and comforting soup 🍜 I was in love with the [Viet Fried Spring Rolls ($6.80)] 😍 It stayed amazingly light and crisp (that outer layer was so crunchy) and was packed with fillings - this is a must order! The [Mini Golden Chicken Pillow ($12.80)] dish was a plate of yellow glutinous rice balls stuffed with shredded chicken, carrots and mushrooms, and then fried for that nice crisp exterior ✨ Not bad, and very filling as each pillow was quite substantial. I ended the meal with their refreshing [King Durian Jackfruit Dessert ($9.80)], that had cute dolphin jellies 🐬 among the mountain of toppings and frozen fruits 🍓 The durian is mixed in with the ice, so its taste is not as strong as the jackfruit! I also tried their [Hot Viet Sweet Coffee ($4.80)], served traditionally with a phin filter. Cultural Staycation at Village Hotel Bugis

Located in the heart of Bugis and along the perimeter of Kampong Glam, Village Hotel Bugis makes for a perfect base camp for both a cultural and trendy walk. Right beside is the Sultan Mosque, along with colourful rows of shophouses that comprise traditional boutiques and hipster cafes. While the shared building with Golden Landmark Shopping Centre looks a little rundown on the outside, the renovated Deluxe Rooms inside have a modern and fresh look. The room feels spacious and comes with a comfy recliner, making it a good spot to read a book or watch television. The bathroom also feels new and clean, and comes installed with a rainshower. Trending Bagels from Keen’s Bagelry 🥯

Keen’s Bagelry is a pop-up store inside Curbside Crafters, a retail marketplace that brings together small businesses in the heart of Bugis. This bagel shop specialises in Japanese New York bagelwiches and it has been quite popular lately, trending on social media and drawing long queues and waiting times! While opening hours are officially 12pm-8pm daily (except Mondays), they usually sell out by 2pm. My advice is to head down earlier: I was there at 11.45am and it was already a 20 minute wait. Thankfully, you can leave your contact number and they will call you once your order is ready for pick up :) I got myself a Truffle Chickin ($12), which comes with a huge slab of oven-baked chicken leg 🍗 The chicken was tender with crisp charred edges, and was marinated with a nice cajun-like spice! It also comes with a generous slather of house-made truffle mayo, which is really strong and creamy 😋 I also added on the Scrambled Egg with Mozzarella ($4), which was fluffy and stringy with a slight cheese pull 🧀 Of course, the star of the bagelwich should be the bagel itself 🥯 This bagel has a soft and chewy texture, giving it a nice bite that brings all the ingredients together. The Cat Cafe at Bugis is a place to visit for all the cat lovers out there! With an entrance fee of $16 for 2 hours, they offer a complimentary canned drink and additional top up for coffees & teas. They also have a wide range of selection in their food menu where you can dine & enjoy flexible time to play with the cats. The ambience of the cafe is really enjoyable and relaxing. There are seatings on the floor giving a very Japanese vibes and also normal seating on tables & chairs. It is recommended to go at a lunch or dinner timing as you will get to see the staff feed the cat and play with them. Overall it has been a great experience visiting The Cat Cafe at Bugis! Yummy Fluffy Japanese Souffle Pancakes

Flipper’s Address - 01-97 Bugis Junction, Singapore Ambiance - casual, cozy, relaxed Ave. Price per Person - 30SGD++ Believe it or not, I haven’t tried a souffle pancake since it became popular here in Singapore around the time when Covid hit 😂 Were it not for my habit of browsing nearby foods during a staycation, I wouldn’t have discovered this gem. The cafe is a few steps away from the connecting door between Bugis Junction and InterContinental Hotel, where I spent the last couple of days during Holy Week. Flipper’s serve a variety of Kiseki Souffle Pancakes - sweet or savory. I ordered their Fresh Fruits Maple Butter Cream for take-out. Their packaging was nice and they even have a hand-written note accompanying it. The food was deconstructed so I had to assemble it myself (refer to one of the photos). I did not bring it justice coz it did not look as good as it tasted! Hahaha! It was so delicious that I went back the next day to dine in. That time, I tried their Fresh Fruits with Honeycomb and Nut Butter and paired it with Iced Mocha. Been wanting to stay at this hotel since forever so I was stoked when Trip.com was offering a $100 deal for Hotel G! 🤎 Hotel G is known for their wine bar/restaurant, Ginnett. They also have a burger joint called 25 Degrees and both eateries offer many happy hour and weekday promos, e.g. 1 for 1 fries, $7 wines, % discounts during tea time. You’ll also be spoilt for choice for food options when you’re living in the Bugis area. Fortune Centre just across the road has many Japanese and vegetarian eateries at affordable prices, and when you walk further down there’s Bugis+/Bugis Junction, where I had this delightful kaisen bowl from aburi kaisen-don keisuke. You can also visit bras basah complex where I tried this cafe, Gamo, which offers fresh bakes and great coffee ☕️ The hotel is eco-friendly and offers water in small paper cartons as opposed to plastic bottles! I love their soap and shampoo which is high quality and smells amazing. Digital Hotel with immaculate hospitality

The service offered by this hotel management is immaculate; they open a line of communication via WhatsApp a day before check-in to drop a set of instructions. As the staff work a set of hours, they also check-in with you every morning and evening to ensure everything is smooth. The room is compact with a comfortable bed and packed with the basics: hairdryer, iron, iron board. There’s also a mini kitchenette with dining necessities available in the room. However the one drawback is the poor soundproofing. I can literally hear every time my neighbour clears his throat, and whenever he rummages through the drawers and hangers. The hotel offers free laundry service, however the washing machines were right outside my room so I am aware every time it’s in use. As the location is near a mosque, it’s understandable to hear prayers albeit a short duration of time. The streets are relatively quiet day in and night out. But the main nemesis is the dance studio right next door so there will be loud music pounding on the walls in the evenings. You can even hear the instructor loud and clear. The first night lasted for an hour, whereas on the second night the class went on from 7:30-10pm with the same music on repeat.
